Do you think a sentence of 20 years is justified for biting someone?

Yes, justified. The key concept is "15 prior convictions for criminal behavior ". Does he have to kill someone first ? Then the chant will be " why was this guy still out on the streets with his history? " Now he'll have a whole bunch of time to sit his ass down somewhere. The slap on the wrist hasnt been enough for this one.

That's ridiculous. Now if it was another drug charge after all the others yes throw the book at him. But biting. That's just pure BS. I am going thru a proceeding where a girl on her 3rd DUI is on house arrest till court for killing a dad n husband. Max she can get is 25 years. Which she will probably cry out of it again this time leaving behind someone that is now dead because of her. Really? Let this guy go he didn't kill n e one. N to let everyone know I am white and strongly believe in fair justice across the board. The juror that convicted him going to sentence their kids r grandkids for that matter for biting them to 20 years. ? Wth is wrong with the justice system nowadays? O I forgot we don't have any.

Its real sad to see a black out of the way it shows that it could be retaliation. For obama being reelected. Its only simple assault regardless of his priors I hope he puts in for an appeal a.s..a.p. this is terrible miscarriage of justice. If your black don't get in trouble because you will pay the price just for being black.they want to elemenate us any way they can.for real.

He already has 15 convictions under his belt! Come on!!! I am surprised he didn't receive a harsher sentence sooner.

This is extermely sad how the court system works. I dont believe in violence only in self protection. But bitting some one and getting 20 years thats crazy. I guess its true dont mess with texas.

I THINK 20 YEARS IS REDICULOUS FOR BITING SOMEONE!! IT MAKES ME WONDER IF THE ROOMMATE WAS WHITE. "BLACK MAN BITES WHITE FEMALE IN TEXAS" THAT WOULD EXPLAIN ALOT. ALSO I THINK HE WAS PUNISHED FOR PAST ACTS RATHER THAN JUST FOR THE BITE. THIS OPENS A DANGEROUS VERY SCARY DOOR BECAUSE HOW MANY KIDS BITE SOMEONE EVERY YEAR?! SO NOW IF A KID BITES ANOTHER KID OR A TEACHER OR WHATEVER, THEN THAT PERSON CAN BRING CHARGES AGAINST THAT CHILD? AND IF THEY PUT A MAN AWAY FOR 2O YEARS IT'S SAYING THAT HARSH PUNISHMENT MUST BEFALL THAT CHILD UNDER THE LAW. THEY'LL SAY A CHILD DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. THAT WON'T WORK CUZ THE MAN SAID HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING BEING DRUNK. AND THE COSTS HAVE ALREADY RULED IN FAVOR OF MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMMITTED CRIMES EVEN MURDER, AND HAVE GOTTEN A LESSER SENTENCE SAYING THEY WERE UNDER THE INFLUENCE AND NOT COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS! 2O YEARS FOR BITING??! REALLY?! GUESS WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
