Do you think we will go off the fiscal cliff?

What is a fiscal cliff? Sending more then you can afford and more then you can pay for. We have been over the fiscal cliff for over more years then you would care to count, ever since we started thinking we could buy our oil cheaper from other countries then drill for our own, and when we shipped all our manufacturing to other countries instead of producing our own needed items because we could not or would not allow ourselves to disturb the environment but rather chose to worship nature as if we could as man take better care of it then the creator of it and all of us could. We not only have gone over the fiscal cliff but should be far more concerned for having given up on all morals that make for a society and our honestly has gone out of the window along with all of this so called new age human religious idea that anything and everything is okay to do no matter who gets hurt and that would include all those many thousands of babies that have been aborted over the past decades, and we have the audacity to call that legal and a woman's right to control her own body, and to take away the consequences of free sexual activity. That it where the human family has allowed itself to be dragged to the sewer pit of self destruction, and we will never as a nation have any kind of contentment until we reverse many of those so called freedoms to do as we please. You can make yourself believe we can fix it all with fiscal responsibility but it will never be of any real value until we put GOD ALMIGHTY BACK IN THE PICTURE. NOW GO AND HAVE YOUR GOOD LAUGH OVER THAT STATEMENT BUT IT IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH And it did not come from some so called elected presidents mouth either. , BUT FROM GOD HIMSELF

We are all to blame for this, not just Washington. Frankly, I think America needs this wake up call. People need to wake up and smell the instant coffee. America got this way from people living outside of their means, and sense of entitlements. Lets see what happens when people have to fend for themselves for a while.

I would like to offer a compromise in the negotiations. Win -Win
Proposal: We want the 250,000 earner to pay more of their fair share.
Proposal: the tax rate for all those earning below 250,000 to be taxed at a lower rate than the rich.

    Solution:

    1. Leave the tax rate on the rich as stated in the Bush tax cuts, but close loopholes.
    2. For all below 250000 reduce their taxes by 5%.
(Notice that the Rich are paying a hire percentage than the poor and the poor get a large tax break.) WIN _ WIN

Cut waste 10% from: Medicare, Medicaid, Social Securty, and Military

I will be happy to explain how this fare approach will work.

President Obama is working hard to keep his campaign promise to KEEP the Bush tax cuts for those families whose incomes are under $250,000, while letting the cuts expire on the wealthiest of Americans. This means, for the wealthy, going back to a 39.6% tax rate, which is what they had under President Clinton, when our economy created 23 million new jobs. What's not to like?

Well, we COULD go back to the top bracket tax rate under a Republican president, say the 50% under President Reagan, or the 91% under President Eisenhower. Happy now?

the president is not interested in avoiding the cliff. the agenda is creating a perception that all the country's problems are the result of an obstructionist Republican house. this will be repeated often during the next 2 years. The agenda is to get the house in 2014. With a majority
in both houses for two years. I shudder to imagine the chaos. The President has said that he wants to fundamentally change the USA.

The democrats goal is to go over the cliff - they do not care; no matter what the republicans agree to they will say that the republicans would not cooperate;the dems have their own agenda; they do not care about this country; they are going to destroy this country.

The government should not be in the business of deciding who is rich and who is not. Everyone should be taxed the same. To say the rich "deserve to pay more" and the "poor deserve money from the rich" is a Marxist concept. In this country, our freedoms apply to our hard-earned wages, considered private property. There are some people who pay nothing into the government, while the government gives them checks. The government does not have its own piggy bank: it is all from wage earners and taxpayers. We should have a flat-rate tax that applies to everyone, and the government needs to get back to the business it was intended to do: protect the citizens (that would be the military), encourage commerce (through good roads, highways, airways, telecommunications, byways), and let the people govern themselves. I am tired of the government telling me what lightbulbs to buy and what kind of car I must buy.

I suppose for me whatever help is there is optional and can be taken to allow my life to prosper with more comfort than I can afford. However , as a Mother I have learned that any and everything you receive comes at a price . With a 16 Trillion and climbing debt I must consider the persons being charged with the gross spending of DC and beyond today. It is a fact the future generations bill. How selfish a country I see today, As Sandra Fluc stated her birth control would cost her a summers income, One would ask her who do you suppose will have to work that summer to pay for what she seeks.? I hope that the cliff comes, I hope the selfish arrogant people who seem to think the government shall supply them with their desires realize that someone has to forfeit their income for the needs they seek. As a part of this society a very disappointed person at that! feels that we as a people created this mess by our greed and we as a people shall take the fury it has to give us. The rich are not rich enough the poor seek more and the middle are joining one or the other of the two classes. So I welcome the cliff I am ready to cure what ales the future and their earnings . No matter what the pain must be felt and it is only fair that it is us and not others ahead of us. thanks.

let obama go over the cliff......

  • Syn - 11 years ago

We've been teetering on that cliff for a couple years now. In my opinion, the whole "over the cliff" thing isn't going to happen next month, it happened Nov 6th.

The cliff is where Obama has been taking the United States for the last 3+ years. No matter what happens he will still blame the Republicans for all wrongs and the blind public will eat it all up.

At that point he will have harded the course toward United States Socialist Republic and the lost of our freedom and the United States Of America.

  • Brandon O'Neil - 11 years ago

The fed will continue to monitize the debt, wall street will continue to eat it up and the largest transfer of wealth in world history will continue unabaited ( actually by design) by an electorate who elected the most inept president in US history. They want cake - Let them eat cake!
I'll continue to cling to my bible, guns and ammo - commodities that matter and allow keep and eat whatever I want.
