Alan Turing made a great contibution to computing. He was a homosexual during a time when it was illegal. But perhaps most importantly, he was educated in SHERBORNE.

I voted Euler because:
Euler systematized math by introducing the symbols for defining (e,i,f(x)),. He also perfected Euler formula (leading to e to the i of pi=-1). He solved Seven Bridges of Koenigsberg problem which led to the development of discrete math and he continued to work even when he became totally blind.

Jennee Walsniz famous fo the development of all fractions with a denominator that is a multiple of 3, where would we be without recurring trees.

Turing ended a world war with his Maths, surely that beats anyone else's achievements?

I think you will find that Leibniz was jointly accredited with the creation of calculus alongside Isaac Newton.
The product rule is sometimes known as "Leibniz's Law" ...
What a great name ... "Gottfried" ... and he has a packet of biscuits named after him!

I reckon that Newton founded Calculus first! (Plus he did "discover" gravity by getting walloped by an apple!)
Brilliant survey!!! Less expensive than a census!
