I don't feel the Sire Bond is as strong as what we're made to think. It's already been proving that Elena had feelings for Damon prior to turning into Vampire & in the real world of Vamperism, Sire Bonds don't work that way. Elena was turned by default, not by Damon himself, which should factor into the Sire Bond Theory but this is TVD. If this is just a twist leading to a new plot for Damon & Elena, this should turn out okay in the long run seeming Elena truly does love Damon & it will have to be Elena during this challenging time to convince/prove her Love to be real. We already know that Damon has Loved her since season 1 and that Elena has had some type of feelings as well since that time frame as well. What kept her feelings buried was Stefan & all his negative commentary against his brother. With Stefan out of the picture S3, this allowed Elena to think/feel on her own w/o Stefan's Damon Bashing. What's ironic is Damon's loyalty and integrity where his brother is concerned yet Stefan could never see Damon for what he truly is. I feel the Sire Bond will bring Damon & Elena even closer together because the bond came into existence because of what these two already felt within their Heart & Minds towards one another. The bond may not be as bad as people think it is. Damon has the choice to not talk so literal when addressing Elena so he can avoid worrying about whether Elena's actions are Real & True. In 04x09, Damon used the Sire Bond intentionally [w/o other's involved] for the 1st time on Elena & this was only because he felt he was doing right by her & Stefan by setting her free. He's in a confused state, which is understandable in this point of time. Damon & Elena will be a force of support for one another during this challenging time, which will make their Bond even stronger, I feel!
It seems like Damon ALWAYS draws the short straw, and if it turns out that Elena is only with him because she's 'sired' me along with so many other fans will be pissed. I like Elena more now then I ever have in all 3 past season and would prefer her to stay this cool version of herself!

Elena can't have been sired just because it was his blood in her when she died. When Caroline became a vampire, she had Damon's blood in her also, and she wasn't sired. Au contraire! She beat the crap out of him, because she remembered everything he had compelled her to forget. I don't know why people, a minority, want Elena and Stephan again. Elena and Damon are much more suitable, fun and sexier. And Stephan is so stupid. The first vampire Jeremy killed had a purpose, to stop Elena's hallucinations, but the second vampire was a really bad idea, because now he's gonna want to kill everybody, including Elena.
