My opinion of Trixie didn't really change much considering I only really care for Fanon Trixie and my only real opinion on this episode was: Poor. IDK But I kind of expected a little more back story and / or character growth, this is one of those episodes that doesn't sit well with me.

Nope, it really didn't change my opinion of her in any appreciable way. I will admit it gave her some extra bonus points, the kind you get in Whose Line Is It Anyway?, for her distrust of wheels.

Well. I've got a very mixture feelings about this episode. Yeah. Lot of you waited for Trixies comeback, but... this way? Really? Spirit of S03E05 is totally SHALLOW. No lessons given, no background humor, Zecora's rhymes awkward and about 20 extracted jokes from first two seasons putted into 22minutes. Just tight together with Trixie.
I hope MLP just step on the bottom to bounce up and next episodes will be better and better. I love Winter Wrap Up, Sisterhooves Social, Hearts and Hooves Day, Friend in Deed etc. These episodes have DEEP THOUGHT. Magic Duel is just a story. Story withnout MLP spirit... ...please do not let MLP change into consumer cartoon. :-(

no. my opinion of her did not change. She still has mostly has the same personality flaws and strengths that she had before. She also is still one of most powerful unicorns in Equestria, and an accomplished performer and entertainer. One point to remember is in Boast Busters she did try to vanquish the Ursa despite her fear and doubt. Another is that like a lot of people who find something easy to do and then run into someone who is markedly better she had trouble dealing with that.

I would prefer to have trixie live in ponyville permanently and become a prominent background pony who throws in a few lines now and again I am very happy to see Trixie's redemption because I wanted to like her soooo much last time but I just couldn't

While she was acting out of spite and desperation, in the end she saw that things got a LITTLE too far... the fact she realizes, and was sorry, redeems her.
Hey shit happens and the bad guys have to lose in the end ... Trixie is still best pony but needs to take lessons from Vegeta from DBZ and Ryoga from Ranma 1/2.

My view of her is still the same- a decent, but vastly overrated character.
This was a great episode, though.
The thing is, she left the same way she came. She still has a conceited view of herself, although she was brought down by Twilight twice. She's just one of those mares that can't change unless magically trampled with love
