Do you think the bigger earners will lower their charitable contributions if their taxes go up?

It's the churches that helped those victims of Katherina and Hurricane Sandy, not the Federal Gov., FEMA, the Red Cross, or Obama. Just ask those folks in New York and New Jersey. We're from Florida and have lived though Hurricane Earl and Dennis. All Fema and the Red Cross gave us was two gals. of water, and $150. They did give us an application for a small business loan, and information as to why we didn't qualify for any other assistance.
During the follow up on Katherina, the Red Cross loaded people up and dumped them miles away from their homes for churches to feed, find clothes and housing, etc. The Salvation Army gave folks clothing and household items free of charge.
The Catholic churches gave victims: food, clothing, household items and money to get medicines, pay utilities, etc. They gave them jobs in the communities to help repay the money they received. If these churches and organizations stop receiving donations, and they will if this change takes place, we are doomed. I think donations should be on the front or first few lines of the income tax return,as it once was. When it was so, churches and org. such as the Salvation Army, did even more to help their communities.
