The only way you can go from this probably happening to you at some point in time during your working days & nights before you retire or not having this happen at all, is to move away from a city where when some well-mannered , WORKING , clean ,respectable, or retired person passes away and gets replaced by a thug & family from New York City in the same house where the nice person lived . I lived in Reading for 43 years so I know exactly what is going on. I watched it go from every HOMEOWNER coming out in the morning to sweep there sidewalk where they were coming out merely to socialize because you could not even find a cigarette butt out there!Every single person that moved in my area in the last ten years that I welcomed to the neighborhood was from NY be it the Bronx,Brooklyn, wherever in NY. I am not saying every single person is bad out of that area, but my experience after they are moved in for a couple days is, NOISE,TRASH,CAR BURGLARY,GRAFFITI,HEAVY TRAFFIC in and out all night, all hours because there is approx.8 people average per house and not one of them work! As you read this and say to yourself , why don't you call the READING POLICE then? I was hoping you would think that so I can tell you the unbelievable but true part of my experience. I am sitting in my house and get up to look out to see how many more scratches and dents have accumulated from the 27 kids of all ages climbing on my car, bouncing basketballs off the roof & hood, sitting on it with there rivets from there $100 jeans while there parents are too busy sitting right in front of them on the porch without saying a word to them, when they should be filling out a job application. My non-working neighbor and her 7 kids and grand kids say to me someone is on your roof peeping in your 3rd floor window. Now it has to be one of my other non-working neighbors on my roof because only your neighbors can get up there from row homes. I call the READING POLICE and a female officer answers and it is an officer guaranteed because she answered the phone saying, "Reading Police, officer so and so".I tell her someone is trying to look in my 3rd floor back window probably to see what they can steal. Hold on to your hats cause this one will floor you! The officer says ,"put up steel bars or move". Very sad to part the place I was born at, but when you have someone that is supposed to help protect you and comes up with that answer it is time to do just what the officer ordered,MOVE. Ironically the next day the READING EAGLE had an article in the paper how it is against the law to put up steel bars on a single window in case of fire.Everybody knows almost every row homes 3rd floor has a single window. So here I sit way, way,up north where there is one Police car actually doing his job and patrolling up and down every street all day.(I live on a dead end road and he still drives up, does a 3 point turn ,checks that every thing looks & sounds normal and leaves at least THREE TIMES A DAY!!! He does not sit underneath the Viaduct in Pendora Park talking to his girlfriend or sit in his car on 14th street behind the condominiums waiting for a call,or sit in the City Park waiting for a call after the fact that the person or persons are already shot and suspect is already gone. He patrols non-stop so the whole town and the new people that just moved in, know that he will be coming by soon, so this must be a town that takes things seriously and fights crime, BEFORE IT EVER STARTS!! Thanks to the Reading Officer's wacked out instructions ,my blood pressure has dropped 40 points living in a town that is absolutely spotless.(And reminds me of Reading in the 1970's) Thank You, Concerned only because my MOM is still living in the hellhole, citizen.
