Wow, fear of guns continues to rear its ugly head and make people more irrational than ever. I really am amazed that people even need to give this a second thought; if a person can;t be trusted to carry a weapon, then they can't be trusted to educate my children either. That simple.

I say because you still have to think of the kids. There should be automatic locks on the doors like in the gas stations, a click of the button and no gets in. Main office should be located in the front with glass walls like in my sons school. They are able to see you as you drive up.
Until the threat is gone I feel we have to do something. Teachers armed with guns should be considered. But I ask...what if a teacher go off on the deep end?

I say no because even though we are all still shocked by this teachers having a gun will do nothing but make future situations.... As a teacher myself i say that we need to maybe step up the law enforcement because thats what they are trained to do.
I said no because this is not a job for the teachers, but a job for law enforcement. Just put resource officers in all schools and that would make these crazies think. Guns in school is not the way to go, its not reform school or prison education, but public education.

i vote no, because of the risk of a child or teacher getting hurt anyways. 1 teacher with 20-30 kids in a closed classroom with a gun... not a good scenario. eventually one of those kids are going to get a hold of the gun. Or watch out kids, your teacher is having a bad day.. and they decide they wanna break out the gun for scare tactics or just plain shoot a kid. Some of these teachers are crazy and don't need to be in a teaching position. Some of these kids are crazy and don't need to be in public schools around other kids. and that's just for an elementary school... lets go to high school.... the students will know there's a gun in every classroom.. you think they're not going to try and get it if they're feeling threatened by someone? 1 gun in a household is dangerous enough and someone always gets hurt when the kids find it..So load the entire school up with guns??? that's crazy.

I do believe there should be something available instead of being defenseless. First response won't show up as fast as we like. Principles should have a gun in their office or something. Also, give them proper training. There is nothing wrong with being protected. Even King David walked around with a sword and God called him a man after his own heart. It's a crazy world we live in. Have faith that God will protect you but He also knows we need to protect ourselves.

I said "no" because you never know when a teacher is having a bad day and reacts before they have time to think. Much in the same respect, if the teacher wasn't properly trained, the assailant could easily take the gun from him/her and use it freely just adding more firepower. I think guns need to stay in the hands of school security because the majority of them ARE trained......

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I'm a former teacher. I have seen some of my peers so angry that they may have snapped if they had a gun. Adding guns to an already volatile situation is like pouring oil on water! Don't do it! It is difficult enough to have to think about guns coming in from outside danger. I should not have to be concerned with danger coming at me from inside as well.
