Should news media withhold names of shooters?

Yes the name should be with held. The number of victims is going up and up because the next person wants to get a higher number than the last. We have the highest number of mass murders than any other country because the media talks about it for days and talks about the shooter. We don't need to see his photo or hear about him for days on end. The media is giving the person everything they want publicity so that the next person says well I can do better than that. I hope a law can be passed or that the news media will have a heart and stop the reporting.
Thank for taking a vote, what is going to become of the results?

I do not think the name of the shooter should be withheld, but I think we should focus on the issues and facts, not the offender. I feel all of the media should invest as much time and energy celebrating the lives of the victims as possible. The families of these shooters are also victims, and I believe withholding names does a disservice to them as well as to the public. It is important that the media discontinue expressing their opinions and speculation as facts, as this only succeeds in causing additional trauma to an already insecure and frightened population.

I think the name of the shooter should not only be omitted, I think any talk about the shooter should. Why? Because those who was taken from their families should be what everyone is focused on and not some low life who snapped.

I wish I could have submitted my " yes or no" vote with a "but". I think they should not omit a shooters name, but make less of a big deal about their identity. No pics, no bio, no guesses as to what it was that set them off. That time and effort should be spent on victims, not one second on the monsters behind these tragedies.
