I think Jef is and always has been genuine. I think Emily also is genuine. They have many values in common as was obvious by their time together. The difficulty for Emily was adjusting post-show to Jef's elevation as an equal. Instead of Emily being the star, Jef naturally became the rising star. I think the problem is with Emily accepting this. So instead she has interpreted it as a Jef seeking attention, when in fact it is that the attention has focused on him. I would like to see them work it out for Ricky's sake. The love is real and ever present in that family group.
