For what it's worth, i'm in favor with three caveats:
1.Two cars per household tagged and registered on Mercer Island should be exempt from all tolls on 90 (not 520, not the Narrows, not 167) with a special Good to Go pass. After two, maybe half tolls for the 3rd-5th cars? Car can't be tagged in Yakima or anything, either.
2.Tolls must be identical to 520 at all times to avoid stupid behavior to save 50 cents in tolls but waste $3 on gas.
3.A small percentage of the toll should go to improved transit service over I-90 and serving Mercer Island, much like a small percentage of the 520 tolls went to better service over that bridge.
And no, i don't live on MI...i'm WAY too poor, but the location of the island makes it really necessary to protect Island interests in the case of tolling being enacted.

I think we should charge twice as much as 520 to let people cross our island. Let them have the traffic. If people don't want to pay a toll they can always drive around the lake.

Kevin,
Because it would level out the traffic on both bridges and not make it a bottleneck for Mercer Island residents throughout the day. Tolls on I-90 would get the 520 completed faster. Plus, if you drive on it you should be responsible for helping to maintain it... right?
