I am a christian but I dislike the church immensely.Instead of it being a place of holiness it has become something of a circus side show.I cannot fix my mouth to tell someone to go to church because I am afraid of what they may find when they get there.I instruct people to pray, study the word, and seek God for their own personal relationship with God.Put on the armor of God because you will need it if or when you decide to go to church. The video wasn't exactly offensive it was more of what you would call rediculous.I am praying for God to get His church in order because it has followed the world and lost it's way.
Even though I question the manner/ meaning of the practice of this ceremony, I did not find it offensive. Unity in the body is what God desires. We have become so sensitive to the sinful behavior of church leaders and those that they prey on that it is difficult not to question certain rituals that exist in the church. Before taking such a public stance on the inappropriate appearance of this practice, the brother/sister should have asked for biblical references to this practice and prayed for understanding and discernment.
I love you Bishop Wayne T. Jackson and I thank you for always being obedient to God, you have taught me to be wise, to honor God first, and to love Him above all else. You and Mom are the best and it is an honor to be under your tutelage...thank you for putting God first and for teaching me too. For all those who want to see blessed testimonies of all the wonderful things that God has done in this Ministry click on http://truthwillbeknown.wordpress.com/ God bless and remember let us all walk in love as God does for us :-)
Why do some black churches have to be so theatrical? I'm confused as to why he couldn't just anoint them with oil and say a prayer over the men. Strange.
This didn't look to be something sexual at all. We, as a body of believers, shouldn't be thinking that there was. When my husband was ordained as a Pastor, he was made to lay prone during the ceremony, but not in that manner. I also feel, though, that if a practice can be taken for something evil, especially if it is shared with the public, they should reconsider their method of ordination.
In 2 Kings, Elisha the man of God did the same method to bring the boy back to life. He laid on top of him and stretched out on top of the boy twice, and the child came back to life. I can see what he is doing now. It is not nasty or homosexual. Read. Knowledge is power!
Very disturbing to see this in the house of GOD . Test everything by the word of GOD. Where is this written?
When in doubt, do as the first Christians did, follow THEIR examples. We have come up with so many rituals it's no wonder nobody wants to be a Christian. This is out of order because like someone else said (which they correctly got from scripture) there should not even be appearance of impropriety. Only Christ is needed NOT rituals, everybody wants to be special, have their own THING, this is not what CHRIST is about. Baptism and Communion, these are what Christ commanded, and each of these two were very simple in nature when you think about it. I'm not trying to make light of these two sacraments, but they really were simple: Baptism - Submerge the person and bring them up (dip and up)Communion - Bread and wine, the body and the blood (eat and drink) Go make disciples, that's from the New Testament, and it's pretty cut and dry, who could be offended?
This is not offensive to me. I'm not judgmental to this ordination service. Maybe it's what God spoke to him, or maybe this is the way the organization handles ordination services. I've never seen it done like this way but again, I'm not familiar with every denomination's practices. Watching this with my Spiritual eyes, I saw nothing wrong. However, if someone is offended, then I'd change it rather than cause people to stumble. Everybody is not spiritually mature so to the babe in Christ, it might seem offensive because this is where they are spiritually and can not see beyond the flesh.
I felt shocked...I was ordain on October 28, 2012 as an Evangelist...maybe there is a diffrent way to be ordain as an Bishop...My understanding is that we as the body of Christ should be unified...on one accord...but I see man has adopted there own rituals, procedures and protocols...so know I see not only what the accuser of ther brothers has done as far as divising the body of Christ with denominations but also the way we function as the body of Christ...and I don't like what I see...So I pray!!!
As A Senior Pastor myself I would pray the Bishop would change that part of laying on top of the men. The Bible tells us to abstain from the very appearance of evil so I would change that part of the Ordination to give no place to the devil.
I feel really bad for the two men being ordained. It's shame how a member of their own church could take a video of the most sacred ritual of their lives and exploit them to the world. They've allowed the world to scrutinize, past judgement and subject the 2 men to public ridicule, not only the Pastor but the church.
Not offensive but strange and crazy! Never seen anything like that. If I had been there I would have got up and left. But each organization has their own rituals. So glad I'm nondenom and we don't follow religious traditions!
since when do u have to get on top of another man to transfer your spirit,,,,its out of line, its out order, its just flat out ridiculous!
Only people who are in there flesh would be offended by this video. What happened to spiritual discernment people of GOD? Open your blinded eyes!!!
We will find Bad in Good and Good in Bad, there is not a thing wrong with the way he ordained these preacher....and who is to say God didn't lead him to do this...Watch and Pray.
I for one did not find this video offensive. I listened to the song that played in the back ground and immediately thought of a cleansing ritual being performed. The song says, "I give myself away; so you can use me." This is simply the minister cleansing the men of their worldly flesh to be used by he Lord. We must stop being closed minded and worldly.
p.s.if he doesnt feel he's done anything wrong, he shouldnt be trying to remove the vid from youtube either. Only a person who feels some level of guilt tries to hide things... even in the face of ridicule...#ija a little more this time.. lol
If you know what the world would view this "as", then why even put yourself in a position for this type of criticism. Sometimes, its more important to get your message across in a way that people can understand and have less negative things to say, than it is to do things "your way". I'm not saying its right or wrong... but maybe... just maybe, it would have been better for the pastor to use a different form of ordination. #IJS
When we are so far away from God as the east is to the west we have a tendency to view things through the eyes and the mindset of the world. It is easy to miss the significance of the ordination (die to oneself); which has no negative connotation whatsoever. To make a negative suggestion and say that the nature of this ceremony is sexully suggested shows how limited we are as apeople on the word of God and our exposure. Its time we stop allowing the world tell us what is write and what is wrong.2 Kings 4:32-36 32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. 33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord. 34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm. 35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
I have walked this walk a long time and seen many ordain Bishop etc,etc , but I have never seen anything like this and yes it will effect someone new in the body of christ who would question this! there is nothing wrong with a person being ordain and the anointing being transfed! let's be real about this, everything was fine until he lad on them , hands yes, but! body no unless someone was freezing. It is the Lords way or no way at all. I did not like what I say.
There was nothing offensive that I saw...if you look closely at the video the Bishop was crying in sorrow for the death of the two gentlemen and at the end of the video the first gentleman got up crying for real as to say he was ashamed of his transgressions. Bishop was doing nothing sexual as in humping the two gentlemen or nothing of that sort. I'm not Baptist, I'm Pentacostal but you have to realize churches don't do things like other churches do. If your eyes offend thee pluck them out...in other words if this video offend you don't watch it and keep your ignorant comments to yourself!! Enough Said, grow up!!
I just don’t see where this is ordained in the Bible. It is reprehensible only because it is heretical and defamatory to the church. I would not go so far as to say offensive only because two grown men knew what they were getting into and consented. It’s just brow-raising and very questionable...
I did not see anything sexual or offensive in ordaining his men of God. We has believers must stop passing judgment and look and the blessing in all of this.
It is not sinful. However, in light of the allegations of sexual misconduct by Church Leaders, it is not wise.
He did nothing wrong....who is to say that God did not speak that to him. People are always looking for the bad in all good situations. If the two mean were not offended then no one else should be either. Let God work it out and stop being so judgemental. Bishop, God has the last say so, for this battle is not yours, but the Lords! Leave it in His hands. Be blessed and continue doing what God has called you to do. Much love!Grand Prairie, TX
this is nasty!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is terrible, the blk church has failed the blk race
I do not believe Bishop Jackson is portraying any homosexual acts with his interpretation of an ordination service. However, I do believe he should consult the Bible and God for divine revelation regarding the proper way of ordaining. A comment was left regarding the scripture in the book of Kings, if you read it closely the prophet was NOT ordaining the child but was resurrecting him based on instructions by God. Bishop Jackson was not resurrecting but was ordaining which is two different things. I will continue to pray for Bishop Jackson and his congregation that they will be able to withstand the criticism being directed to towards them and continue to grow in the Lord. Be blessed Bishop Jackson and seek guidance from the Lord.
Not to Judge but there's more people buying Rap music than Gospel music. The same goes for there's more followers of the Feel Good Preachers that uses little of the bible in preaching and most of their opinions and thoughts, than there is people following the preachers the preach thus saith the Lord. I dont follow Preachers but if I was to I wouldnt be following the TDJAKES and the gang. Money Power and Sex. He got our attention with his foolish Sexual suggestive act. He gets the money and he has some power.
This Bishop is using religion to publicly fester his sexual fetish. He needs to be stopped.
Is in based in biblical doctrine, and or tradition? If I had the mind set of thinking of it from a sexual point of reference it could be questionable. However, my christian mind set, allows me to view it as a waterless baptism. A death to the old self, man, the old way of life. A burial, covering, and prayer, and now they rise in newness of righteous life. Think !!! Phillipians 4:8
I do not think it's offensive, where do people get that stuff from. Those were grown men who participated not children. I'm thinking the people who found it to be sexual are people with their own issues!
This is crazy!!!! Why can't people spend their time talking about all of the lives that were changed because God used Bishop Wayne T. Jackson? Or why can't they talk about all the people who were healed of cancer and other diseases because God used him to lay hands on them? Bishop Wayne T. Jackson has done so many GOOD things for the community, and the city of Detroit. It's a shame people spend their time focusing on the negative and not how he has Impacted the World! Shame on you!!!
This is absolutely disgusting. Bishop Jackson should be ashamed of his self. No where in the Bible does it say that you must lay on top of someone to ordain them. God is not pleased with the actions of Bishop Jackson. Satan is running ramped in this world today. And Bishop Jackson is under Satan's attack. It's time to stop playing church and God.
There is absolutely no reason for Bishop Jackson to lay on top of the candidates while they (candidates) were laying on the floor. Surly, without a shadow of doubt, his private parts made contact with the candidates buttock! This type of offensive action is unholy and definitely not scriptural. Why could not the Bishop lay beside the candidates? Because if he seriously meant well or good by laying on top of the candidates, it also open up the door for his action to be question as well as criticized. The Bible said, Don't let your good be evilly spoken of! Now, are there any incident of anyone laying on top of the same sex in the Bible for any reason? Yes! 2 Kings 4:32-3632 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord.34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.36 And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son. KJVElisha action made have seem strange but it was effective! The LORD raised the child from the dead. Definitely Bishop Jackson's Ordination Ceremony seem strange but who am I to say that it would not effective or to say that those candidate didn't raise in the newness of life! So, I don't want to be quick to judge as I stated in the beginning of this post, I just pray fervently that the Bishop use a different method next time.
Please show me scriptures in the KJV BIBLE this is the way God Ordained HIS APOSTLES and OTHERS that were called to carry HIS Word to the four corners and utmost parts of the world . Please show me where JESUS laid HIS Body on top of people when HE went about healing and teaching...If its not written then it did not happen and who are we to say we can do what we please and say "in the name of JESUS?"
I've never seen any thing like this, that said no I didn't find it offensive. I like the song! But there is no way I would let any man lay on top of me. Unless God him self spoke to me and told me to lay down.
I put yes because it was a bit shocking and very unusual and I would find it offensive, but I wouldn't say it was a gay act. I just don't think that was neccesary to do in order to be ordained.
Thats disgusting!!!! There's no where in the Bible where this form of ritual or introduction of being an ordained ministrer elder deacon comes into play, this man obviously came up with this disgusting and unecessary method. We have to understand Thus Saith the Lord and follow his teachings and lean not on our own understanding. Who is this man? he's special and feels by doing this he's bringing blessings to them? No matter our personal relationship with God this sought of behavior is no longer personal but public. Not between him and God but between him those men the congregation and now the general public. Be careful who you follow people. Follow God!!
Not offensive at all. Peoples minds needs to get their minds out of the gutter. They were laying prostrate before the Lord and transfering the anointing.
Despite cultural norms, I celebrate my relationship with God differently. However, I still did not see the offensiveness that people referred to.
