I still believe El Paso is a good city to hold EDC Texas. Like you said, it's a well respected city by artists. I went to EDC in Vegas this year and am from EP, it was totally worth it and it was quite the adventure. SCMF has gotten to big people from New York and other states are traveling to the Sun City. So the traveling part is the lamest excuse as well as the "we're all going to die because it's next to Juarez" excuse. If you really loved EDM and it's people the adventure would be so worth it. If not this year, I know for a fact El Paso will soon be the spot for EDC, the city is just getting bigger and better.

cheaper cost of living.
ease of access. loops, restaurants, hotels, bars (mature).
flourishing and ever expanding edm scene.
cheaper gas. we are energy capital of the US. & we can handle the energy needs of the event with ease.
multiple loops for ease of traffic and easy to not get lost.
plus public transportation. buses & rails. and of course taxis.
really easy, better than Las Vegas road system. I was there for past 2 EDCs. Confusing despite its size.
And Louisiana is just down the road. Good times.
Also reliant arena/astrodome area would be best. Lots of parking and space for staging areas.
The Rodeo is done in that space every year and very well done.
This also means we're used to all the rowdies (crazy people) that come through here.
Yes, that means tons of medical facilities and EMTs. lol.
Water? Plenty of that here. Humidity means less dehydration.
And we're business friendly.
4th largest city in the US.
Plus take into account future growth.
It won't be in El Paso. When you think of Texas what city comes to mind? I'm not from Texas and I moved here to College Station and since then I viseted the 3 big cities. When You think of Texas Cities, first city in mind would be huge, diverse, Houston with the highest population in Texas, then I'd think Dallas, twin City of Fort Worth, San Antonio the Heart of Texas, Austin the beautiful capital. El Paso? really far, different time zone, not known, desert.

I love EDM and would travel to El Paso just for EDC but I really would not want to. If the people from El Paso think SO many people will travel all the way out there for EDC they really should think about all the factors that go into that. EDC brings more than just 5000 people, ID Fest Dallas brought roughly 15-20 thousand people. I dont even think they can accomodate in one general area that many people without them having to drive even more to get hotels and such. Not hating on El Paso although yawl are in the middle of nowhere, I just don't think EDC should be placed there. EDC wants to grow and expand, spread the love of music and people. That just wont happen in El Paso. Houston has so many cities all around it, great venues, lots of hotels and other sights and things to do as well. I would drive 4 hours for that not 11 hours just to may or may not get disappointed.

Being from Dallas and seeing what happened there last year with the cops and the city council, Im inclined to agree with the person that suggested Texas Motor Speedway. Its a very large place, lots of hotels and very accessible.
Dallas has gone on a rampage to stop electronic music, and it has hurt every single party that has gone on here. The EDC last year was all the idiots at the city council needed to put into practice to hassle each and every electronic party and close every venue it can. Dallas is shit, take it elsewhere where we dont have to deal with self serving idiots and cops.
To be quite honest, you can go to a Celine Dion concert and find any drug you want to poison yourself with, but they allow these to go on. This is just like the Woodstock days when they had the Lewisville Pop Festival at a raceway north of Dallas. This party, like all the others, was quashed by people that just dont understand the atmosphere, and are afraid of it.
As an electronic (Psytrance) dj, I have to go elsewhere to play my style of music. So, to make a long story short, FUCK DALLAS! Even El Paso is a better choice, although its a long ways down the road from here, I would make the trip!

additionally i saw someone say el paso is in the middle of EVERYTHING... the only thing el paso is in the middle of is fucking nowhere. and no, there's no way in hell it would bring the highest revenue streams... you people from el paso are another good reason it shouldn't be there.... you're obviously delusional that el paso is like new york or something. Coming from a dallas resident, i can say objectively that houston just about takes the cake in texas for the EDM scene. someone also made a good point about EVERYTHING already being there and it'd be a good change of pace to set it in san antonio which i'd support. But el paso is really just a bad choice for the fans who will have to make a SUPER long and unnecessary trip out (which will also cut attendance) that's also less safe. and it's not going to help EDC grow and expand.

Well were do you think all your drugs you are consuming to have "a blast" "enjoy the music" "making memories" are coming from??? Just because there is more population in one city does NOT mean that the whole population will be attending. Just look at the poll! What's the purpose of having all that population, if only a tiny fraction voted? Almost everyone in the music scene in El Paso, voted. I saw a comment saying that the event WILL BE GREAT for TWO STATES and TWO COUNTRIES. I don't know why everyone is bitching at each other... just be glad its going to be in texas! This is the kind of crap that makes me want to stay away from festivals... what happened to p.l.u.r.??? what happened to everyone going to these events to feel together and enjoy the music?! I for one will be going where ever it is in texas (and LV) and im from el paso. el paso would be great for las cruses/albuquerque/chihuahua/ the rest of texas (even if you refuse to admit it) and of course el paso! and i know many people would come (hell i met people from VIRGINIA & D.C. at SCMF) if the rest of texas doesn't want to go for whatever reason then oh well! ill still have a damn good time! why would anyone want a festival at dallas or houston where it would have to be over by 12:00 am?! either way im leaning towards austin. but like i said wherever it is in TEXAS im in! for all you true dance music followers plur on and i will see you at EDC TEXAS! :)

all you guys stop bashing on Houston, it's the biggest city in Texas so of course it will have diversity in other genres. What's important is that they have one of the biggest EDM communities in Texas and growing now. El Paso is still small, and will have far less attendees if EDC is there... trust me. a lot of people won't go all the way over there.

I find it funny how people call Houston ghetto and hate on the city for its diversity. When really their EDM community has grown passed El Paso's thanks to NightCulture and Dico Donnie. Last time I went, there was no sign of ghetto people in their huge EDM event Something Wicked. It was pure thousands of EDM lovers. And I live in San Antonio. Houston would be best. please trust me.

So...just an opinion coming from a promoter view. Yes, Houston has all the best raging parties around in Tx. It's not fair to have it in H town again. If you have it in Austin, you get all the promotion there, plus San Marcos and San Antonio. If you truly love EDM yea you might travel all the way out to BFE El Paso..but then you have to deal with the border patrol bullshit as well. And I'm sure many people will have issues with that. Not only that, but El Paso isn't really the toast of the town. Not hating, just being real. And I'm sure if you have it in Austin ppl from H town (larger EDM crowd) would much rather travel there than clear across Tx to El Paso. #logic#

Houston hosted Something Wicked Festival, it had the attendance and the vibe of an enormous festival Like EDC. It should and can be Houston. Thousands showed up that day to witness Kaskade, Zedd, Nero, Flux Pavilion, Zomboy, Modestep, Jack Beats, Tritonal, and way more. If not Houston, any other city but El Paso, no hate, but it's too far and isolated from the rest of Texas.

Since El Paso is "pretty much" Mexico, I will have you know that the combined population of El Paso and Juarez is over 2 million. Yes, that is more than Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and maybe even Houston. We can attract fans from northern Mexico, and all the real fans from Texas and Albuquerque. If its in dallas or austin ill just go to vegas like last year. But hey el paso has a lot of potential. And ofcourse we know how to party. We love electronic mucis. We even have party krews or dancing krews in our teenage years.. so we know how to get down wen it comes to party. It is a loud city and the djs love it here.

i have never been to el paso but put it there and its not a texas party. most people who live anywere in texas mine as well go to vegas. there is no need to dog el paso for the stereotypes or what or who is in that city. Its just FUCKING FAR and completely defeats the purpose of throwing an annual event in texas. it literally (not spitefully) mine as well be thrown in a different state. The whole point of bringing edc to Texas is to make it more readily accessable to this part of the country this isn't a contest based on the city with the people that go the hardest as "el paso" apparently does. Having in El Paso is still accommodating the western part of the United States. I don't know why the people in El Paso feel like the rest of Texas ( and the surrounding states) should accommodate them.

I still believe El Paso is a good city to hold EDC Texas. Like you said, it's a well respected city by artists. I went to EDC in Vegas this year and am from EP, it was totally worth it and it was quite the adventure. SCMF has gotten to big people from New York and other states are traveling to the Sun City. So the traveling part is the lamest excuse as well as the "we're all going to die because it's next to Juarez" excuse. If you really loved EDM and it's people the adventure would be so worth it. If not this year, I know for a fact El Paso will soon be the spot for EDC, the city is just getting bigger and better.

It won't be in El Paso. When you think of Texas what city comes to mind? I'm not from Texas and I moved here to College Station and since then I viseted the 3 big cities. When You think of Texas Cities, first city in mind would be huge, diverse, Houston with the highest population in Texas, then I'd think Dallas, twin City of Fort Worth, San Antonio the Heart of Texas, Austin the beautiful capital. El Paso? really far, different time zone, not known, desert.
Please bring EDC to the TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY!!!!!!!!!!! That would be absolutely amazing! Great Venue! Ft Worth and Denton are close enough for lodging. It's right off a major highway. It's Perfect! Please bring EDC BACK to Texas the right way. BIG!

I love EDM and would travel to El Paso just for EDC but I really would not want to. If the people from El Paso think SO many people will travel all the way out there for EDC they really should think about all the factors that go into that. EDC brings more than just 5000 people, ID Fest Dallas brought roughly 15-20 thousand people. I dont even think they can accomodate in one general area that many people without them having to drive even more to get hotels and such. Not hating on El Paso although yawl are in the middle of nowhere, I just don't think EDC should be placed there. EDC wants to grow and expand, spread the love of music and people. That just wont happen in El Paso. Houston has so many cities all around it, great venues, lots of hotels and other sights and things to do as well. I would drive 4 hours for that not 11 hours just to may or may not get disappointed.

Being from Dallas and seeing what happened there last year with the cops and the city council, Im inclined to agree with the person that suggested Texas Motor Speedway. Its a very large place, lots of hotels and very accessible.
Dallas has gone on a rampage to stop electronic music, and it has hurt every single party that has gone on here. The EDC last year was all the idiots at the city council needed to put into practice to hassle each and every electronic party and close every venue it can. Dallas is shit, take it elsewhere where we dont have to deal with self serving idiots and cops.
To be quite honest, you can go to a Celine Dion concert and find any drug you want to poison yourself with, but they allow these to go on. This is just like the Woodstock days when they had the Lewisville Pop Festival at a raceway north of Dallas. This party, like all the others, was quashed by people that just dont understand the atmosphere, and are afraid of it.
As an electronic (Psytrance) dj, I have to go elsewhere to play my style of music. So, to make a long story short, FUCK DALLAS! Even El Paso is a better choice, although its a long ways down the road from here, I would make the trip!

So...just an opinion coming from a promoter view. Yes, Houston has all the best raging parties around in Tx. It's not fair to have it in H town again. If you have it in Austin, you get all the promotion there, plus San Marcos and San Antonio. If you truly love EDM yea you might travel all the way out to BFE El Paso..but then you have to deal with the border patrol bullshit as well. And I'm sure many people will have issues with that. Not only that, but El Paso isn't really the toast of the town. Not hating, just being real. Houston hosted Something Wicked Festival, it had the attendance and the vibe of an enormous festival Like EDC. It should and can be Houston. Thousands showed up that day to witness Kaskade, Zedd, Nero, Flux Pavilion, Zomboy, Modestep, Jack Beats, Tritonal, and way more. If not Houston, any other city but El Paso, no hate, but it's too far and isolated from the rest of Texas.

El Paso'd crowd is ideal for EDC, we really are the loudest city, but guess we gotta face the fact that theres not a big enough venue for edc cause the rest of Texas neglects and sees us like fuckin mexico.. -_- gotta go for Austin if not EP, its probably 2nd to el paso in edm fanbase. Houstons terrible for edc...dallas has already seen it, and san antonio would be 3rd on my list. People just hatin on the fact that el paso has got eachothers back and parties hard. If its in dallas or austin ill just go to vegas like last year. But hey el paso has a lot of potential. And ofcourse we know how to party. We love electronic mucis. So many people saying el paso won't bring in as many people as Dallas/Houston/Austin, but SCMF'12 attendance was 20,000 and edc dallas attendance was 22,000 and no one was killed or injured at scmf. Just some facts to back up el paso. EDCEP

i have never been to el paso but put it there and its not a texas party. most people who live anywere in texas mine as well go to vegas. there is no need to dog el paso for the stereotypes or what or who is in that city. Its just FUCKING FAR and completely defeats the purpose of throwing an annual event in texas. it literally (not spitefully) mine as well be thrown in a different state. Its a gathering so make it central.

It be awsome to have EDC in El Paso. Its a shame that you all morrons forget your history starts in El Paso. If you actually knew how wonderful El Paso is.
The whole point of bringing edc to Texas is to make it more readily accessable to this part of the country this isn't a contest based on the city with the people that go the hardest as "el paso" apparently does. Having in El Paso is still accommodating the western part of the United States. I don't know why the people in El Paso feel like the rest of Texas ( and the surrounding states) should accommodate them.
