I think Aria might somehow be connected to the A team. And I think Spencer got that text from "Aria" was actually Aria because she was always showing that she was scared about telling Ezra about his baby so she texted Spencer telling her to meet up with her, while she knew that Ezra was going to be there, and knowing Spencer, would say something to Ezra.
I mean, how would A take Aria's cell out of her bag? These girls are obsessed with their phones, so how would have A gotten the phone out of her purse, typed the message, pressed send, and put it back?
Then, I think someone on the A team got mad at Aria for doing that, as the A team have a plan for everything, and maybe their plan was for -A to tell Ezra, not Spencer, so they gave her a creepy text to throw her off track, make her confused as if "But, I sent the text, what are they talking about...?" And that was -A's way of telling Aria that she would be in trouble for what she had done. Anyhow, that is my theory/idea so I hope you like it, and leave a reply of what YOU think. :) -Lily

melissa hastings has always seemed like an A to me i'm not sure why but every since the show started i always thought she was A just something about her and in a way how she seems to get less hurt than all the others makes me think it to maybe a does have some-what of a soft side! just a thought
