Should Joe Flacco get a long-term deal worth $18-20 million a year?

Most "elite" quarterbacks get the big money after they've already peaked. This guy has his best years ahead of him. Makes sense to pay him the big money now. Lock up a long-term contract.

I'm with Ironmaan11. He deserves a pay bump, but not quite to the $18-20M range. As yourself, for one game (ignoring longevity), who would you rather have? Would you pick Flacco over Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Peyton Manning or even Eli Manning? I wouldn't. What about Ryan or Roethlisberger? That's a closer call.

Now taken into account his youth, and that it's a new contract, I'd put Flacco around $15-16M, probably.

If winning does not make a quarterback elite, what does? Maybe some other members of the team should also be considered elite. I personally don't care about 'eliteness'; winning games, however, is what counts.

He does not deserve it just for not throwing interceptions, remember it takes the rest of the team to do what he did.

He deserves the pay bump. I am not a fan of Mr. Flacco, I do not think he is in the same caliber as Brady, Brees, either one of the Mannings or even Rogers. I don't even think he's as good as that kid from San Francisco BUT he was the quarterback of the winning team of the Superbowl XLVII and he should be paid as such.
