What is an ice cream float? A beverage poured onto a food in a glass. I'd consider that a beverage. But the fact that milk and cereal is served in a bowl is the only thing that differentiates the two. If you served cereal and milk in a glass, it's a beverage. So therefore, even though served in a bowl, it's still a beverage. What is Ice cream and soda in a bowl? Same product, different dish. So is that now a sauce or broth? Is it the dish in which it's served determine the moniker? Or the use of a utensil to consume it?

A broth is made from a liquid taking on flavor of a solid, bones, vegetables, meat.. A sauce is a combination of ingedients to make a single liquid. And a beverage is a drink.. So i meed to go with beverage since it only meets that criteria

It's a sauce. Just like cranberry sauce on turkey or applesauce on lamb.
