Is Mac App Innovation Dead?

I think he's right to an extent. PCs are becoming just a creativity workbench rather than an arcade per say. Most of the essential features are already built into the OS, providing all of the tools one needs to perform their given task - which is usually in the form of a full web browser functions, certain downloads and website access and data transfers or network configuration - or if their phone is broken. Or the need for some specialty software to run programs that allow you to perform services for others (DJ, photo-editing, designing xyz, or building apps for mobile devices). The need to innovate is quiet, and the demand for it is expected to come from the manufacturers as Part of their purchase as a new feature. The world is mobile now. Everything is on the go and focus is on making the mobile platform as linear as a PC and provide the tools to compensate for a wireless world which is done through innovative apps. The PC is sedentary - society is not. And innovation is embraced by those who realize this. When you can do anything and not be sitting down, you're bound to capitalize on the opportunity. In my opinion, Tim Cook is right - but I'm not surprised when a single device makes up over 2/3 of your sales - Id capitalize on it too.
