Would you eat food made with horse meat?

Protein is protein, no matter what animal it comes from.

We have some very strong cultural biases against some forms of meat; other cultures have other very strong biases (try serving a Big Mac to some people from India). We don't usually eat horse or dog here, yet these are very popular as food in other cultures.

I don't believe I've ever eaten horse, but have consumed and enjoyed squirrel, rabbit, turtle, frog, lion, ostrich, kangaroo, and several other things that would be considered exotic to the average American palate. I see nothing wrong with horsemeat.

The problem with the meat found in the Ikea meatballs was that it was from a source in Romania (most likely mob-controlled) and not certified for human consumption. If a horse is raised without certain antibiotics or insecticides there is absolutely nothing wrong with eating it. The Ikea meatballs may have contained meat that was way off the scale for human consumption.
