Is America responsible for federal government gridlock in Washington?

I don't think gerrymandering is an accurate measurement of the voting will of the public. There was in fact a voting majority in the presidential race, in the House, as well as the Senate. We hate to admit it, but if it weren't for gerrymandering, Democrats would also control the House.

Yes. This is how a democratic republic works. For my vote, I am quite content my elected representatives are doing all they can to minimize the damage the majority party in the Senate and administration are trying to do to the country. I've started reading more about our national history and am amazed that periods of extreme dissension have occurred before, beginning in the very first Congress when the Republicans had to hold off the Federalists who wanted the U.S. to be a monarchy. Our nation has survived these periods before, and there is no evidence to conclude we will not survive the current ideological divide that exists in our citizenry.

I realy feel that the Rep/Dem have forgotten why they were sent to Wash. It looks as if, the ones who are well to do are always trying to tell the poor that they should do what they think should be done. "Stop being rich for awhile and look back at the time you were poor, or in some cases what your poor friends have told you about being poor and do the job to help us and not not yourself. If you are rich, you cann't tell poor people they don't need medicare or Ins. when you can pay for it without the need of medicare. Do the job we sent you to do. HELP US.
