While the Sounders clearly are poised for a very good year, calling them the "best sports team Seattle has ever known" when they have never even won the MLS (a third tier soccer league) is ludicrous. The long list of historically better Seattle teams would have to include the 1917 Seattle Metropolitans (Stanley Cup winners), 1958 Seattle U Basketball (NCAA Runners-up), 1991 UW Football (National Champions), 1997, 1998, 2001 UW Women’s Rowing (National Champions), 2009 UW Softball (NCAA Champions), 1923-2012 UW Men’s Rowing (more than 50 National Championships), 2005 UW Volleyball (NCAA Champions), 1979 SuperSonics (NBA Champs), 2001 Seattle Mariners (116 wins), 2004, 2010 Seattle Storm (WNBA Champs), 2006 Seahawks (NFC Champs).

LOL, come on, this isn't even close. The Mariners are the worst team in the history of Seattle sports, and this year won't be any different. There's a reason only old people over the age of 85 care about the Mariners. No one else is dumb enough to waste money on that team.
The Storm are a good team, but from what i hear they're rebuilding a bit.
The Sounders on the other hand are expected to win the championship, and win many other competitions they participate in. Heck, the Sounders are the best sports team Seattle has ever known, and this may be a record good year even for them.
