Matt, you're missing the point: http://www.dogbitelaw.com/dangerous-vicious-dogs/a-propensity-to-attack-other-dogs-means-a-dog-is-dangerous-to-people.html

Any owner can make a dog meaner BUT no owner can 'love' or 'train' the BREEDING out of a dog. No one expects the owner to love or train the herding instinct out of a collie. Pit bulls were bred to kill other animals, but people brainwash themselves into thinking they can lover or train the aggression out. They cannot: http://www.dogbitelaw.com/dangerous-vicious-dogs/serial-attacks-and-rampage-attacks.html

I am the proud owner of an 85 pound, registered, American Pit Bull Terrier, plus two of his pups. Pit Bulls are highly intuitive, quick learners and are very playful. They require a lot of exercise and are extremely loyal. If you are not prepared to make the commitment to the breed and are in it for just show...try plastic fish in a bowl!

Fact is 99% of dogs have never bitten and probably will never attack. There is an estimated 72 MILLION dogs in the USA and it is also estimated 53% to 54% of the dogs are Mixed Mutts. Anyone who thinks a dog's shape determines if a dog is dangerous are probably the same kind of people, when given the opportuinty, that would pre-determine the charactor of a person based on the colour of their skin.

Dava and Jalkoney. You need to come up with a new argument. Pitbulls were originally breed for bull baiting, then used for dog fighting due to their gameness and tenacity. They were never (read *NEVER*) breed for human aggression, only dog aggression.

If you're going to try your weak arguments on any breed, it would a breed that was breed for guard dog duty. Even then, your genetics argument doesn't really hold up to scrutiny. You're referencing four incidents involving 4 dogs out of approximately 5 MILLION dogs of this MIXED breed type. You realize that if humans had this low a rate of incidence there would be almost no murders in our country? Maybe we should just ban humans... especially humans like you who bury their heads in the sand after reading a few biased media reports.

I also find it very funny how your types only crawl out of the woodwork when you can post anonymously. Any time I've seen a comment section that requires a unique login like Facebook, your kind are mysteriously missing and that vast majority of people are pro-pitbull-type dogs... and suddenly there is a dose of sanity. When it's anonymous, like this, suddenly the crazies make a large showing, using their ridiculous genetics argument and posting ridiculous media stories. Sorry, but your argument is wrong and there's no other way to look at it, if you have even a SHRED of common sense.

Polls like these mean nothing...texts, phone calls, Facebook alerts....."hey, go vote that the pitbulls who are responsible for all four dog attack deaths in 2013 are gentle dogs whose owners made them killers...." If people could be responsible for making killer pitbulls (ironically only pitbulls can be made killers by bad owners, right?), then why are people allowed to get them without strict examination and psychological scrutiny....because it is the pitbull breeds that are genetically wired for fatal injuries no matter what owner has them. Even Cesar Milan's own pitbull has joined into fights...go to YouTube and see for yourself and he is the god of pitbulldom to many who blindly seek reinforcement for their emotional need to have a killer breed while claiming theirs to be totally in their control. Ban pitbulls. End the killings and maulings.

We all know this is not a scientific poll THANK GOD as there are so many ways to vote more than one. The fact that they showed a small puppy instead of a full grown pitbull is just another tatic to try to get sympathy for the MAN MADE monster. Like nukes and biological weapons, pitbulls are out of control. Created by evil people for evil purposes, one day the dogs are sweet and then they suddenly turn like Dr. Jeckly and Mr. Hyde and kill and mutilate with such tenaciousity, most victims need several surgeries and endure Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as being attacked by a pitbull is like being attacked by a Lion except the Lions are everywhere now as the "jungle" is in all communities rich and poor. Pitbulls have even attacked in elevators and on school buses. Turn off the reality t.v. Those "stars" are PAID to promote pitbulls.. just like t.v. celebs promoted cigarettes for money for decades on the t.v. Wealthy dog fighters promote this fad because they don't have to worry about getting caught and can keep their barbaric sport going with pitbulls popularized. The it's the owner not the breed mantra sounds logical but it's not. This repetitive slogan is illogical. Other dog breeds owned in much greater numbers have equal chances of getting neglectful and abusive owners, yet they adapt to human shortcomings and don't maul people or pets at anywhere near the rate that pitbulls do. Labs are routinely forgotten and chained in backyards and they are the most popular dog breed in America, Labs are not the top killers, pitbull are. Mortality, Maiming and Mauling by Vicious Dogs, Annals of Surgery, April 2011, is study of dog injuries in hospitals spanning the last 15 years. The study found that you have a more than 2500 times higher chance of dying if attacked by a pitbull. The statistics on pitbulls seriously harming people at a much higher rate than other dogs are overwhelming. You can't love out genes or untrain genes. Family owned and loved pitbulls can turn on a dime. If you believe that pitbulls are just like any other dog, and regurgitate the false "its the owner not the breed mantra" you might of believed the world was flat, too Just because something sounds good doesn't make it true. Regulating pitbulls is for the greater good of all. We can't keep having kids walking around looking like bombing victims for life and their parents begging for help to pay for the medical bills. These dogs were created for evil and nobody knows when or where.. but family loved and unabused pitbulls suddenly turn into monsters. Evil begets evil. No humans have been killed by any dogs so far this year except pitbulls. FOUR pitbull deaths in first 39 days of 2013
Betty Todd killed by Her families pit bulls while babysitting.
