Don't forget how many people have GPS functions on their phones. Were the researchers funded by Garmin and TomTom to force you to buy a seperate device?

Why shouldn't people, not the driver, be able to use all functionality available in a mobile device when in a car? If my wife is driving, why shouldn't I be able to send a text message or browse the web? Disabling mobile devices in a vehicle is absurd.
