Is Scott Prouty a hero?

After watching the interview with Scott Prouty, I think that 95% of Americans will think of him as a "Hero". The other 5% are Republicans who are in total denial. He had the courage to come forward and expose Mitt Romney for what he believes, what he represents and what the Republican Stupid Party Core Values are. He did not do it for money or fame. He put his life on the line, because it was the right thing to do for all the right reasons. What more can you ask of a genuine person and a great soul. May God Bless you richly Scott. You are one in a Million.

Scott is a "portrait in courage", especially when we know good people remain silent while EVIL thrives... Scott did not embellish anything mitt said. We got to see mitt in his element - super comfortable showing his "appreciation" for young girls living 12-to-a-bunk, working for a "pittance" behind barbed wire fences with the barbs turned "inwards" to prevent them from leaving. mitt was soooo in his element among his super-rich welfare queens, that the only thing mitt did not do, was TAKE OFF HIS SHOES AND KICK BACK!!! Then mitt had the gall to insult our intelligence by claiming what was exposed was "only a snippet" of what went down... Well, like the 47% videographer said, "mitt asked for the entire disclosure, and GOT IT!!! mitt tried to spin "what he said" into "what we did not hear". Not only did we hear what you said, we knew what you meant, and we SAW YOU sayin' what you truly believe. You even doubled-down on your "in-eloquent expose. SEEEE-YA!!!

truth will sometimes be hated these days

  • Atticus - 11 years ago

Please take note of the quotation marks at the beginning of my post. I was quoting Mister CT, who I was rebuking for his derogatory remarks against Ed and Scott. I'm a fan of them both. Be careful while reading, before you attack someone who is on the same side!

Here is my post from earlier....

    Atticus - 30 minutes ago
"NO, he is a fraud just like mr ed the talking horse's ass!!"Either you don't know what fraud means, or you're just mad because they don't have the same political ideology as you and you just want to try and insult them, (a feeble attempt at best). Try harder next time kid.

  • Atticus - 11 years ago

    @Margo Lane
Hun, I believe you need to re-read my comments. I was criticizing the people who voted "no" on this poll, when I made that remark, 52 people said no. The no's are up to 56 now. Scott is a hero! My other remark was to criticize the man who was lamenting Ed and Scott.

  • Atticus - 11 years ago

Awww don't leave us Ed! I'm going to miss you so much on weeknights! If Rachel or Lawrence ever leave too, I'm just going to cry. I'll look forward to your show on the weekends. The only solace I have is that the brilliant man, Chris Hayes, is taking your weekday slot.

  • Margo Lane - 11 years ago

People like "Atticus" and "28" make me sick, these two reak with hatred. Scott IS a hero, something these two know nothing about, and never will. Scott has a moral compass pointing in the right direction, not just to the "right" politically. I appreciate what Scott did as an honest and caring American citizen, his personal sacrifice, and his efforts to enlighten the American people is outstanding. The only fraud in this matter was Mr. Romney, and Scott exposed him for what he really is, a lousy liar, a lousy American, and he would have been a lousy [and destructive] President. If the goal was to save his Country, Scott succeeded. Thanks Scott.

If your reading anyone's posting other than your own "Atticus" and "28" you might let us all know if you feel the way you post, why do you watch The Ed Show anyway?

  • Atticus - 11 years ago

52 people thus far, do not know what the definition of a 'hero' is.

  • CT - 11 years ago

NO, he is a fraud just like mr ed the talking horse's ass!!

  • Donna Crane - 11 years ago

Scott Prouty has a Moral Compass. It's one of the most under-used and sadly needed directionals in the United States and in the World.

Hero in America and Thank You Scott Pourty - U are a Real American and Thank God for People like yourself. If Romney would of won we all would be out of work and without a Good Union Job!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mary J Geer - 11 years ago

An American hero for sure! Thank you just isn't enough. You restore my faith that there are people who will stand up and do the right thing. You have saved America from a disaster of unimaginable proportion! God bless you and yours forever.

  • Demo-Cat - 11 years ago

If he hadn't had the courage and intelligence to get that video on youtube and to David Corn, even those of us who suspected what was going on never would have been able to be sure, and could not hav said anything since it would have been simply gossip. Many would've voted for him who didn't with the knowledge he provided. Others, who lived in Romneyworld and couldn't show what he was to those who didn't believe them, could rest assured their words were shown to be true. Mr. Prouty is indeed a hero, and he was there at the right time. God bless the man!

  • Mark L - 11 years ago

Going to miss you on weeknights. I'll miss the hand off conversations you and Rachel often have too. I'll be tuned in on Saturdays and Sundays. It's the time slot I normally change the channel from MSNBC. It's going to be tough on Sundays during NFL season though. I guess I can check the scores during commercials.

  • trudy rose tizya - 11 years ago

Ed!!!! I will miss the 5:00pm show but will definitely tune in on sat and suns. luv you Ed and thank you for all you're doing for USA. run for President next time around. trudy tizya

I'm 76 years old with a wife and 5 children and a raft of grandkids and I unexpectedly have a new super hero in
my old age. Thank you Mr. Prouty for giving me a restored faith in America. Your courage shoud cause you
the get the Medal of Honor.

  • Kim Klardie - 11 years ago

This was only one video, look what it saved us from.
We all need to protect each other. If something is wrong
we need to expose. The elite can afford anything- their secret
agenda's are despicable. People need to stand up and take America
back. We need to exercise the courage Scott Prouty used.

  • June - 11 years ago

Thank God, Scott! Good job! And I just heard you also recently saved a woman that ended up in alligator waters in Florida....Took courage! Bless you and definitely good luck with your endeavors! June

  • Christine Karloich - 11 years ago

If this man prouty dies now because of this, his blood will be on Ed's hands. How will Ed fill then, I will try to watch your show on weekends ed

  • Kim Klardie - 11 years ago

Scott brought to the attention of the American public the truth about Romney.
Can you imagine what he would have been capable of doing to our country.
Imagine being proud of enslaving 20,000 woman, behind barbed wire, paying
them next to nothing, and did you notice their beds didn't even have mattresses.
Romney is despicable. That's what we as Americans need to start doing before we
loose everything. We need to filter out that !% of despicable elites that have no
thought for mankind other than their own wallet who's main agenda is to take
control of everything we do because their rich enough to do so. They don't care what conditions
they leave for the next generation as long as they succeed and profit.
Prouty is a hero . Anyone who cannot see the many reasons why is blind.

I think that Carnival and all those other shipping companies are going to have to change the name of what they sell. I know they're not spelled the same, but still...

Big Hero Unless Webster was wrong in his 1964 editon when he defined FASCISM

  • scifibird - 11 years ago

  • Lee garnon - 11 years ago

I think the magnitude of all this is sooooo much bigger!! An excerpt, "...a system of govt. Characterized by rigid one-party dictatorship, forcible suppression of the opposition (unions, other, especially leftist, parties, minority groups, etc.), the retention of private ownership of the means of production under centralized governmental control, belligerent nationalism and racism, glorification of war, etc. ...". Any quick guesses at who said that??

you are all damned right he is a hero!!! way to go Prouty. if i was in his shoes that day i'm sure i would do the same. those repugs are all greedy you know what. they don't care what happens to the middle class or poverty. they will never there for anybody but themselves but guess what. we all meet someday in heaven equal, no fancy gowns or tuxedos. they will all be even with the talibans and what have you. as a matter of fact we're all equal period.

  • seniorcitizenopinion - 11 years ago

John Boehner and Paul Ryan must know that LEAVE THE SS, MEDICARE AND MEDICAID alone and raise the revenue are MANDATES!

  • Vicki - 11 years ago

I totally agree with KatieKate3!! You can tell that he agonized over whether or not to make the video public..and had a moral decision to make. I admire him for standing up to his own convictions and to make this public despite possible reprecussions to himself. I thank him for taking a stance to uphold his own convictions - and those of ALOT of us!!! I knew Romney was not telling the truth during his speeches etc. but alot of people did NOT. Thank you, Scott!

Now the REST of the Republican POLITICOs need to realize they LOST - and start working WITH the People and the Dems to get our Economy on Track!!!!!!!

Ed - I will watch you on the weekends.... I wish you luck.. and hope this was of your OWN volition (to move to the weekend) ....

I wouldn't listen to morons like this winston smith guy,the repugs are obnoxious they never change.

  • CS Bjornstad - 11 years ago

Scott a hero? No way...he did not put himself in danger to do the "right" thing. He may be a star for those on the left, but he is not hero. I suspect he would not call himself a hero.

  • Cate - 11 years ago

Heroes don't think they are such. Those who are the beneficiaries do. Mr. Prouty is a hero in a profound way, a part of a change of history, and it came from the soul in him that told him to do whatever it took to save that woman's life. To heroes it doesn't matter if it is one life or many, it is what makes life meaningful that makes the difference, and that often means that one's own life has little meaning without cherishing another's, whether known or unknown.

  • Winston Smith - 11 years ago

This guy is far from a hero. If you want a hero, try Christine Miller. November 18, 1978. There's your hero. Ed Schultz is pathetic with this polarizing, divisive crap, night after night ad nauseam, and I'm glad he will no longer be bringing his totalism to prime-time anymore.

  • Debbie - 11 years ago

All the flip-flopping Mitt did.....it was tough to see him clearly.
Scott, you had the guts, and revealed the man behind the curtain once and for all.
    All the Best to you!

Big Eddie.....see you on your week-end Show!

  • sundownlady - 11 years ago

When I think Mitt could have squeaked into the WH like the rat he proved to be, I am absolutely certain of Mr. Prouty's heroism... A TRUE American Hero! I wish him the very best life has to offer!!

  • KatieKate3 - 11 years ago

The term "hero" is ascribed to far too many highly-paid celebrities and sports figures. Being a great singer or athlete is fine, but it isn't heroism. Heroism is taking risks for little or no reward or recognition, and this is what Scott Proudy did. He didn't immediately jump in front of the camera or demand money for his recording; he sat on it and pondered whether releasing it was the right thing to do. Releasing this recording went a long way to burying the Romney/Ryan race for the WH, a race that cost a lot of very wealthy, very powerful people a lot of money. It remains to be seen what peril Mr. Proudy is now going to face, but I can't imagine someone with Mitt Romney's sense of entitlement letting a "nobody" take him down without retaliation. I hope I'm wrong, but I sense that Scott Proudy has spent his last worry-free night. I wish him all the best, and I thank him for his selfless act of heroism.

  • LauraG - 11 years ago

Excellent interview Ed! Yes, Scott is my hero. I am a worker in the USA and I truly appreciate people like Scott and yourself that are fighting the fight for middle Americans. I already believed Mitt Romney was not for middle class, but this exposure was nice to see and validate my belief. Great job!

  • Marilyn J. Kuenzig - 11 years ago

    Thank you Scott Pouty.

Thank you Ed Schultz. I looked forward to watching you everynight. You were the first person on TV who actually stood up for the working person. Hope your new show on weekends blows away all competition in that time slot. Best wishes for the future.

  • Pamela - 11 years ago

Thanks Scott! Wish you great success on your journey...

  • Wendy - 11 years ago

This comment is for you Ed Schultz. I adore you. You are a man who is for the people in this country. I haved watched to every night for a long time. I will miss you so much at 8:00 pm. - We all know that those who go AGAINST THE PEOPLE's WILLS, will be defeated!
    - 2014 will be the PEOPLE'S YEAR! Democrat will be the majority of the US CONGRESS and the POPTUS WILL MATERIALIZED THE PEOPLE'S MANDATE WHICH HE RECEIVED ON 2012!

  • Robert - 11 years ago

Thank you Scott for your moral courage and just keep being true to yourself and GOD.

  • Theresa - 11 years ago

Scott is a real hero with a real conscience. His action took great courage! It was not an easy thing to risk everything and go up against the powers that be. Thank you!
I will miss you every night Ed. Hope the weekend thing works out --- we NEED your voice.

  • Sandy D. - 11 years ago

Absolutely Scott Prouty is a hero, if only there were more like him to expose those who take advantage of the 47%. I'm glad he exposed Mitt Romney for what he was, a liar and 2 faced flip flopper. I never did believe ANYTHING Mitt Romney threw out there, he never was for the poor, the middle class, the senior citizens, he was only for himself and his rich friends, and if he would have gotten elected president, heaven couldn't even have helped our country. We would have had EVERYTHING taken away from us and everything would have been given to the rich. We need more Scott Proutys in our country so that these rich fat cats can't take our country away from us.!! Bless you Scott Prouty!!!

  • Don Parker - 11 years ago

The GOP could difinitely learn a lesson for being your own Man or Woman from this young man. Horray Scott Prouty for being what America is all about.

  • LaVina - 11 years ago

Scott Prouty should be consider very honorable to tape the famous "47% interview." He open the door in showing Willard Romney his "true colors." That tape shows the ignorance, rudeness and arrogant side of Romney on how he really feel. At the end, Romney got busted, full blown.

Prouty shows that anyone would have done the same thing, especially for a candidate who don't show no remorse except to whinn about everyone but himself. The interview show Romney in his own words, no gaps, no pressure, just foaming in the mouth without feeling guilty.

I knew Romney was a joke and a lier in sheep's clothing, but this tape is "icing on the cake." Perfection!!!!

  • Mike - 11 years ago

Karma is a bitch. Breitbart and the Rightwing Media Machine manipulated videos and lied to destroy ACORN. 2 years later, Prouty used video to tape the truth and destroyed the GOP Presidential candidate. Perfect.

  • UUUnicorn - 11 years ago

Scott Prouty is a hero--so are Anonymous, Bradley Manning, Julian Assange, and WikiLeaks.

  • Wendy - 11 years ago

Yes he is a big hero for the American people. Because he was willing to get involved and he cared enough to put himself on the line he is our hero. I thank you Scott for letting the world know what Mitt Romney really was and that is not for the American people
I thank you for saving our country from the worst night mare of a man if he hadever gotten to be President. To me god placed Scott to be there at the right place, right timeto do what was right and he did.
    Thank you Scott.

  • Don Parker - 11 years ago

Thank you Scott and thank you U.S. Steel for giving Scott a Job...if contributions are appropriate just give me the address. We should allways insure that our Heroes are taken care of.

  • Miss Minnie - 11 years ago

Yes he is a hero, he was able to expose Romney, at what he really is. Thank you Scott for exposing him and thank God the best man won

  • Jeannie Webb - 11 years ago

This brave young man did our country a great service by exposing Mitt Romney for what he really is. He is definitely a hero. We need more people like him!

  • seniorcitizenopinion - 11 years ago

Scott Prouty is a hero, he is a true American, there are many just for themselves w/o thinking of the person next to them! One does not have to look too far, we see those hypocrites appear on TV everyday, like John Boehner, Eric Canter, Paul Ryan, ...

  • Jim Pilurs - 11 years ago

As a former bartender of 25 years, a former Republican and PROUD AMERICAN... I am so proud and happy that this man had the guts to do the right thing.

I don't know if Mr. Romney would have won without this "truth" being exposed but either way, AMERICA owes this man it's appreciation!

    THANK YOU MR. PROUTY!!!!

    God Bless America!!!!!

  • dorothy - 11 years ago

Great show ed last night with Scott. I'll miss your daily hour. But good for you to follow your love and I'll watch you except for football nights. Scott is a great guy!

  • Ray Robinson - 11 years ago

Edward Darrah ... come on, man, a hero is someone who does someone who faces something very frightening and takes the right steps anyway. You saying he didn't do that? Plus, he saved a woman from drowning in her car.

By the way, Ed Schultz, best of luck with the weekend show. I hope you'll be able to do some investigative stuff that exposes the lies and exploitation in our system (and maybe a little lauding of those operations where people are treated right).

  • Mark L - 11 years ago

He is. Many others heard and/or recorded Romney but took no action, perhaps didn't even anything wrong with Romney's behavior and words. Now hearing Scott Prouty jumped into the everglades to save a woman from drowning in her car I have to say he has a heroic character.

  • MB Williams - 11 years ago

Mr. Prouty is INDEED a hero. History will remember him as THE MAN who saved the 2012 American election and Pulled the "sheets" off of the Romney and ULTRA-CONSERVATIVE Lie. God Bless you Mr. Prouty, All the Best.

  • Monica - 11 years ago

    Yes, he's a hero.

A hero is: A person who does the right thing with no concern for a reward or fame.

  • Beth Kredel - 11 years ago

He's a hero, period. More people need to be like him; doing what's right and not necessarily easy.

  • Frank Clarke - 11 years ago

I guess half of the 2% have spoken. lmao

  • Boo - 11 years ago

    He's my HERO...marry me ((((LOL))))

  • Candi151 - 11 years ago

Yes, definitely! He's a Hero because he did the right thing. Not many people do the right thing. We all owe Scott a debt of gratitude.

  • sharon - 11 years ago

He saved a woman's life. He is a hero!

  • Tim Hosman - 11 years ago

    Hey Scott,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart you are a hero.

  • EDWARD DARRAH - 11 years ago

He did the right thing. But hero no.

  • Carl - 11 years ago

    Bravo! Truth -will- out.
