Is it ever okay for parents to lie to their children?

My parents never lied to us, even when it came to where babies come from. My mom did not give details, but never told us that the stork brought us a baby brother. She told us that God made mommies and daddies in a very special way so that they could have babies. At 4 or 5 that was good enough. We knew that Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the tooth fairy weren't real, and all five of us survived. They taught us to respect what others thought or believed when it came to the holidays. If the words are chosen carefully and are age appropriate, then there is never a need to lie. Better to hear the truth from your parents than to find out that you have been lied to, no matter how small the lie seems to be.

Be a parent and don't let the child raise you. No means no holidays are an exception. (When your old enough). Is the way not a lie
