If you were a US Senator, and your constituents felt strongly one way about a social issue but you felt strongly the exact opposite, how would you vote?

I would have to vote what my constituents want -- that's what Senators and Representatives are hired to do. AND, we are answerable to the people in our district who elected us. If I felt strongly enough about an issue that goes against their wishes, I would hold a sreies of Town Halls and try to convinve them of my reasoning,; at the same time I would make every effort to listen to and understand their point of view.

In the end, it is the constituents who should determine my vote, not my reelection or personal beliefs.
