Its not just the extra length of the actual runway but the exclusion zone that they get out into the water. That's what all those white buoys are defining, at both end, and that area gets larger and larger each year.
With this proposed extension of the land for the runways, this exclusion zone will almost close off the western approach to the entireToronto Harbour.
This needs to be included within the overall defintion of the impact on the surrounding area.

Based on various sources the extension would be 168 metres on either end, not 146 metres
