Every country, IN THE PROCESS OF NATION-BUILDING, would inevitably commit atrocities &/or even genocides ( look no further than UK, USA, AUSTRALIA, FRANCE, etc...) The present regime of THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA is only 59 years old. If I'm trying to be mean & smart, she has a long way to go to emulate the above-mentioned Western Powers in their Human Rights Violations during the last 200-300 years. Are we going to boycott London in 2012? Afterall, aren't they NOW still OCCUPYING Iraq & Afghanistan, 2 sovereign countries while Tibet is not?

If anything athletes have a significant and unique opportunity to experience what most of us will not and that is, an individual’s view of a brand new aspect of human development. China is on the cusp of being something new, we need to have an open mind and through discussion, debate and observation maybe identify why many reports of China are laced with anti China rhetoric. Boycott nothing.
