I'm as frustrated as the next guy, given all the optimism this spring and just a few weeks back, predictions of a .500 or better season. But I'm not ready to give up yet and sweep these guys out for yet another regime starting all over with another 5 year plan. How many managers have we gone through since Pinella? What might we be saying about Jack Z if the trade with Arizona had gone through for Upton (.316 avg w/11 home runs)? Lets let things play out at least for this season.
You only get so many chances. The attendance at Safeco has finally gotten the owners attention because it impacts their bottom line.

I think Jack Z hit the jackpot his first year.
I remember when the M's took the best athlete available in the first round and then drafted nothing but pitchers after that. And out of that they built some great teams.
