How 'immortal' was Richard Alpert prior to the cork being unplugged?
It was impossible for him to die, end of
He could only be killed if it was done intentionally by someone else
He could not die of natural causes
He could not die until Jacob died
Somewhere in between these options (please explain in the comments section)
