The only way this nonsense will ever stop is the one thing that will never happen. The trucks have to stop, period! The big carriers are the ones who push all this regulatory garbage. If they push out all the little guys then they have the loads and government in their pocket. Look at the rates right now. Trucks are still hauling it. That tells me right there that the idea of shutting down the trucks will NEVER HAPPEN! Stop the industry and you stop the political BS. That is the one and only way to get back in real life trucking. Some say, " the Government will just make you drive ". That's competely idiotic! How can they make you drive? Arrest you, KINDA HARD TO DRIVE IN JAIL. How about this one, well complete rebellion may get you shot. OK, hard to drive when your dead. Spokesman for the industry in washington hasn't worked. If it had then why are we in this position to begin with? Lawsuits, lobbyist, unions, trucking associations, nothing has changed the way this industry is headed. SO I say once again " SHUT THEM DOWN "! IT'S THE ONLY WAY THINGS WILL EVER CHANGE! Unfortunately that will NEVER HAPPEN!

Bunch of pencil pushers who know nothing about trucks and probably didnt drive their own car out of their own state passing out regulations? Stupid idiots dont realize that this regulations are the cause of accidents.
They need to pass out laws about brokers underpaying carriers. Because in reality that is the cause of any unsafety. What driver wouldnt love to drive by this regulations? Everyone would, if you they got paid to drive like this.
With what brokers pay this days, if anyone was to drive by this regulations, they wouldnt have enough money to make payments for their trucks. Not speaking about their families.
Stupid government officials put regulations on brokers and shippers. With today's rates carriers are forced to drive around this regulations. Dont think with ur asses but with ur heads. Put some common sense into your thinking and im sure you will pass out laws that actually help people.

I also place full blame and responsibility on the big companies. They have no problem apparently bending over and taking it up the ol caboose. Where are our so-called industry leaders to push back against this tyranny. All it would take is for the CEO's of the five largest companies to threaten to stop delivering loads. Washington would end this nonsense in no time. Up to you JB, Schneider, Werner, etc.

I work from 6am to 6pm period. If the product doesnt arrive on time, tough toenails, dont blame me blame the douche bags in washington. They did it, not me.

Our industry's policies are dictated by public emotions and feel good notions. The new laws have very little to do with effective safety measures. It makes no practical sense to dump every truck that comes off of a 34 hour break into rush hour traffic at 5am. What happened to common intelligence. Trucks are a vital part of the food supply chain and small carriers make up the vast majority of these numbers. Put us all out of business and believe it or not people somewhere will go hungry. Will your family and children be included in those numbers?

When I'm tired, I sleep. If I need a nap, I nap. The feds make my job so complicated.

Our 'day' starts at 6pm. We run overnights to stores so cars and trucks don't occupy the same limited space. We call it safety. The feds prefer brainless publicity by people who never got their hands dirty in a real job.
