    Advantage, Bill

'Next Generation' 1st season was witness to an ensemble of 'cardboard cutouts', but once the actors gelled and the writing markedly improved, Capt. Picard was well on his way. Sir Patrick Stewart grew to offer the kind of subtlety and nuance that Shatner never could, although both had backgrounds in Shakespeare and other classic theatre. It's just that 'Kirk' was part of a formula (see the recent FB posting of studio 'guidelines' for those who aspired to write for original series) that almost pigeon-holed him. ADVANTAGE: Picard . . .

In terms of acting, no question, Stewart wipes the floor with Shatner. But Bill's Kirk was the original, Picard stands on his shoulders.

No Captain has ever been as entertaining as James T. Kirk!!!

    Serious FUN!

    Shatner's the BEST!

    Picard is the complete package.
