What information do Hiring Managers want to see on the front page of a candidate's curriculum vitae?

    Hi Rory
In the absence of a cover letter I agree. However - it depends on the construct of the cover letter. Some are a complete waste of time and should be binned! As are some CV's :-)
I'll do a post on cover letters as a follow on to this post within the next couple of weeks.

Re Linkedin replacing the CV. With the current capability (or lack of) of Linkedin to address specific roles I don't think so. And I'm not sure that it should. In my view Linkedin is a vehicle to communicate the general / ubiquitous capability of a candidate. A CV should communicate in a more focused manner the candidate's ability to address the 'hot buttons' of a specific role. Happy to discuss further if you'd like to catch up.

Craig - I thought your example on the blog was a good one - I would only add a paragraph on what the person was seeking and why? That's because I don't like cover letters especially. a LinkedIn profile link I think is a good idea as it allows the reader to delve further quickly.

What is the view on your LinkedIn profile replacing the CV?
