I like reading stories that seem to depict people in everyday situations that suddenly or subtly take a turn for the extraordinary. Like a guy who falls in love with the ideal woman, who turns out to be the dead lover of his father. Or a woman whose lifelong dream is to win the lottery. One night she dreams she won the lottery and the next day she actually does win millions, but then her life goes to hell . . . But finally takes a turn for the better when she learns some deep spiritual truth.
