I have mixed opinions about your wanting to password protect. No matter if you do or don't, websites such as Denver Off The Wagon and Fermentedly Challenged will continue to inform people on every single event/release in Colorado. I was the dude that stood next to you in line at Crooked, we had this conversation that day. We scored, but it was damn close. I don't think you made the situation any worse from posting about it, it was advertised heavily. The biggest issue is that rare/seasonal beers are being more sought after. I think having a network of beer lovers who pass info on what is hitting in fucking great in my opinion, but where do you draw the line on how many? I think anything that informs me has a price, and knowing what/where/when takes a lot of time so THANK YOU Scott for spending 5 minutes every hour to track all this killer info you share with us. I would suggest we throw a hunter party each year, and show Scott our respect, thanks again!

Look if there is going to be a limited release then that means someone might just not get a bottle. Happened to me before and I used that exprience to plan better. The real thing is how the breweries run them. Avery runs a well orginized event including the handing out of tickets until they know the number of bottles are spoken for. This way the remaining people can go into the tap room or hang out else where and just enjoy Avery's other brews. I was at the Crooked Stave event. I got there much later then I wanted to so I knew I might come out empty handed. But the event was run horribly. The line for the beers ran right into the taproom where there was also a mob wanting the special tap re-releases. The line moved in a strange way where we stood for 15 minutes, then moved about 15 feet. Then we waited again! If I had been asked to set it up, the line for bottles would have entered from the back delivery doors leaving the tap room just for the drafts and bathroom. I then would have followed Avery's lead with the cheap stock tickets they use to let people know if they would get their bottles and that it would be cash only. Person drops $90 cash, they get their 6 bottles and leave from the back. OK rant's over. I feel much better now.
