David Cook is my pick. While I respect and like the others and have favorites in Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. Also like Kris Allen. David is my Cookie. He was different every week he performed and changed the music up. His two albums are so good and I look forward to the future. His album that he self made Analog Heart is a classic winner. I know he is now living in Nashville and on to either doing an album independently or maybe signing with someone there, he will be fantastic.
I truly miss the old days of Idol where the contestants start out on the smaller stage then when it is the top 10 the stage becomes bigger. I miss that. Thats what made the days of Kelly, Carrie, and David so good.

I am a huge fan of Kris Allen. He is a great person and a great singer. However...He has not been very successful with his music even though he has a versatile voice and can sing pretty much anything. He is amazing live! He has an amazing heart for Jesus and I wish he would make a gospel/christian album. I believe that is where he will find success. :)
I'm a fan of a lot of the idols really but the best Idols are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. I voted for Kelly Clarkson and I was very surprised to see that Kris is so far in the lead. Kelly has a great voice, is a great person, and has had a great success in the business!

This poll is titled who is your favorite American Idol winner. Not who is the most talented or who has sold the most albums or who has won the most awards. Obviously, since the people on this poll ALL won AI, they all have a lot of fans who love them. Not every fanbase is as fanatical about voting on polls like this, which is why some people have much bigger vote totals. But to whine about who or who isn't winning makes no sense to me. It's just a fan poll -- it isn't going to affect any of these artists' careers in a positive or negative way.

While I like a number of the idols (having voted for quite a few to win), Kris is my favorite idol. He just continually impresses me with his musical abilities and his beautiful soul. I love the way he constantly changes things up. If you go to his concerts, you won't be getting the same show all the time. I love his smooth vocals and am constantly amazed with what he can do with his voice. He is also funny and adorable. I cannot stop listening to his music and songs. While some are just fun, others really speak to me; . Kris is just special. He's not all flash like so much of the current music industry. Really, people should check out what they're missing. I also am a fan of David & Kelly.

Fell in love with Kris when he sang Aint No Sunshine. He has been my favorite ever since- has it all! Great face, great versatile voice, lovely personality, humble attitude, grateful to fans, super live performer, lovely family, snarky wit, sings from his heart, not worried about "fame and money", a real musician in all ways. Who wouldn't be proud to vote for Kris. The question doesn't ask who sold the most albums it is who is your favorite-that is Kris and none other for me. Please don't put down my choice . Of the 12 American IDOLs, I have the music of 9 in regular rotation on my home music system; however, Kris Allen is by far my favorite winner. His voice is very smooth, never screechy. He writes and sings great pop music with rock, soul and country influences. He feels every word and note of every song, and that translates into his music, allowing me to feel every word and note of every song, whether it is a live or recorded performance. Kris is also a wonderful person, taking time to volunteer and raise money for many in need throughout the world. This is why Kris Allen is my favorite American IDOL, and why I take the time to vote for him in polls like this.

Kris Allen is by far one of my favorite American Idols ever (he and David and Kelly are pretty much tied as my fav). During Season 8 I always loved Kris but he wasn't my favorite. It wasn't until after the season had ended and the Idol's Tour was in full swing that I fell in love with him, so to speak. Watching video footage of Kris on stage every night really made me take a second listen to his voice. Watching him in interviews of that time, I saw the emergence of snarky!Kris and sassy!Kris; it was so much fun to watch him play with reporters and have fun with their questions. Then when his album came out I was sold. His music is amazing-soulful and genuine and moving. I saw him in concert in December 2010 and even though I've seen a lot of people in concert his is one of my favorites. It was a whole experience: the banter, the music, the way he played with the crowd; he was a pro and still is. I met him afterwards and got the biggest, best hug I could ever have hoped for. He's an amazing person and an amazing songwriter and a talented musician. I love Kris to pieces and always, always will.

Why does everyone always wank on Kris? If you haven't seen him perform in person, you have no idea how charismatic and talented he is. He's a gem. I'm a huge Adam Lambert fan, but I will always love Kris too. Any resentment you guys feel towards Kris is misguided. And in my humble opinion, I think he has a better voice than most on this list.

Good for them. I know for a fact that many of them are also David & Carrie and Kelly fans, as well as many of the others. This isn't about talent. These guys are all talented, and some prefer one type of artist over another. Nothing wrong with that! All the girls are great singers and Kelly will always be the Queen of Idol. But S8 is my favorite season and Kris Allen is my favorite Idol. I met him once and had a chance to talk to him. He was sweet and sincere and he gave me the warmest hug. His show that day was fantastic! It was a memorable day for me and because of that he's my favorite.

After four years of pure admiration of Kris, he is still my absolute favorite. He makes his fan feel so special and he puts on the funnest shows and always thinks of others.

Why Kris you ask? Because I say. Because Kris got treated like cr*p by Idol and 19E and the fans of other people (ie look at Luz' comment and that's pretty tame compared to some stuff he gets told still four years after) and STILL keeps going on with class and style. Because Kris cares about us and music and gives us (his fans) great songs like better with you and monster and out alive and paul simon. Because he loves to play with music and it shows. Because he cares about what happens in the world. What happens to people in other countrys and his own. Because his wrist got broken in a car accident that wasn't even his fault and STILL he started his tour one week later just to make his fans happy, ignoring the pain and his own wellfare. THAT'S why Kris is my IDOL and always will be. And even if AI-PR does his best to tell you otherwise - Kris has fans. We're here and we will stand for him.

WoW, how can Kris beat any of the other singers? Kris voice is average. Adam Lambert did not appear on the list but he is the real winner of season 8 Idol. There is no comparison of Adam and Kris for Kris cannot compete with Adam in singing. Kris is sweet but Adam is sweet and the best male singer ever. People will forever be talking about season 8 in Idol. I do not think that Kris will become famous for his music.
