This happens in California every 10 years. North vs. South. They're 'Two different states, two completely different worlds" is what they say.

It's been going on for 50 years.

In the end, the economic downside of splitting a state and the legal hurdles that have to been jumped, are massive. That doesn't even count the federal government's weigh in. If the feds say no, you're screwed (and they can say no in many many ways).

So, yea.. go ahead... dream your dream, but's it's never going to happen.

Just so everyone understands that not everyone that supports the idea is a fan of Northern Colorado. Some of us would be happy to see it go.

It is a shame that "my way or the highway" progressive politics in the Colorado State Capital have come to this. That's not a democratic republic. That's tyranny.

I support this from the progressive point of view - glad to see these right wingers OUT of Colorado politics. We'd all be much better off.

The state only caters to the wants of those in Denver and Boulder and ignores the needs of those outside of the cities as evidenced by recent legislation. Maybe Denver and Boulder should secede and become the People's Republic of ??? and the rest of the state remain as a free Colorado.
