I'd rather smell a dog ANY DAY than the perfume and aftershave/cologne that so many of you think is wonderful. Don't talk to me about dog/cat/animal allergies when you have never had a chemical-induced migraine because you *THINK* you smell good. Dogs make the world a better place.

If co-workers agree on a few rules then I think dogs should be allowed in the workplace. My husband's workplace has tons of dogs on site every day and there have been less than a handful of complaints over the past 7+ years, none of them involving a bite. The children at work are more difficult to manage when they show up occasionally. If someone has allergies and it is impossible to accommodate them with dogs then you really should consider the human. 'Not liking dogs' isn't enough if the majority wants them. Heck, there are some folks that I work with that I'd trade a dog for any day! It is a huge morale booster, ask anyone who has a dog-friendly workplace. There are always going to be a few negative people on this subject.

To you dog lovers out there: not everybody is a dog lover like you. Personally I think most dogs have no use for anything except making a mess, and I hate seeing them brought into stores. Keep your dogs at home or in your cars.

It IS sad. No one likes having allergies to animals and then experiencing prejudice for it. Ever experienced a dog allergy? Try focusing on work while you experience difficulty breathing, rashes, itchy eyes and nausea. Not productive or happy.

This is sad. Anyone been to a dog friendly business? It's awesome. Try visiting Sparkfun sometime. 40+ dogs, HIGHLY productive and happy atmosphere.
