Did Paula Deen deserve to be dropped by the Food Network?

Paula Deen's cooking show was the reason I tuned into the Food Network channel and I will be dropping it at the end of June as they drop Paula's show. I will also be reviewing the advertising on the channel and boycott their products as they too have supported this decision to drop Paula, and suggest all veiwers to the same.
Take a survey in the USA and ask if they have ever said the "N" work in their life time? Are you surprised?
Tune into a Black AA comedy show and just listen. Are you surprised now?
    We love you Paula.

Paula, her family and fans are behind her all the way. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. I hope when this trial is over, that Paula will give us the whole story. We are in the south and 40-50 years ago this would have never been addressed. Does anyone know about all the good things Paula does, how about all the charities she supports! Food Network maybe you ought to look at yourself and see what you need to change, before you get sued! Good Luck, we love you, Paula!

No. I love Paula and so does my husband and friends. She loves to kid around, laugh and have fun. I'm sure that she did not mean to hurt anyone with whatever she said...someone is "trying to take her down" either to get money or they have a grudge. Oh, by the way...aren't we suppose to forgive...especially when asked. Remember she had to tough making her way through life too!

I am a black woman and I love Paula Deen regardless of her racial slurs. I have been around all race of people and they all use the "N" word freely. I don't think that she deserves to be taken off the air because of that. I don't understand people sometimes when it comes to that word. I am mixed with black and indian and still refer to my friends as the "N" words and so does everybody else. I go to a vietnamese nail salon and even they say it to each other, and I've been around white people that call each other that. Look the word up in the dictionary before you go pointing fingers ( dictionary states the word nigger means : a person of any race or origin regarded as contemptible, inferior, ignorant, etc. Be more open-minded and get out of the slave mentality or you will never get anywhere in life.

I think it's ridiculous that the food network would drop her for using a word that was prevalent in that time. I'm not saying that it is right. As a white person I hear racial slures towards me a lot. Nothing comes of it because I nor the others are not famous. I'm treated like I "owe" because of something that happened before my ancestors were here. My ancestors were treated the same way when they arrived here. I will no longer be watching the Food Network!

It's a shame that this world has gotten so 'politically correct' that one can be chastised for something so simple. They can call themselves 'niggers' all the time, but that's ok. Let a white person do it and it is a major crime. Get over it.

This is the craziest thing I have ever heard! All you are doing is using her as an example. Ask a black woman or man if they have made racial comments ANYTIME in their life and if they till the truth, they will say yes. Let that network drop you, people will line up for you to be on their network. This is so stupid. People can use terrible curse words and that is funny. Get yourself together America!! We have more to worry about and do than this junk!!
