Good luck to all of the nominees here! I thought all the scenes were great. Being a Supernatural fan, I was (of course) especially impressed with both nominated scenes from that show. The church scene between Sam and Dean was amazing and really showed both actors' talents and the beautiful bond between brothers. The crypt scene between Dean and Castiel was incredible, and displayed what amazing actors those two are as well, and just really proved yet again what a great (profound) bond that Dean and Cas possess.

Sam and Dean heart-to-heart talk in the church scene was THE talk of the fandom for weeks afterwards! Wow, it was just, wow! . Dean and Sam are the heart and soul of Supernatural and they keep me watching through 8 amazing (and some not amazing angel story arc) seasons.

@stepanie soto, friendly reminder that Castiel was seconds away from beating the life out of Dean, and Dean was saying anything ("I need you" ) and everything to get the DumbAss to STOP KILLING HIM! But I'm not surprised since Castiel's other beatdown of Dean in season 5 launched a thousand romantic fanfictions, in that beatdown Castiel came very close to killing Dean too.

Dean and Sam in "Sacrifice", that church scene was incredible, so raw and honest. The other SPN scene on the poll ( Dean and Cas in the crypt) was very weak and contrived, even Jensen Ackles said he didn't think it worked since it was a very shoddy rip off of another powerful Dean/Sam scene in a different finale. Poor Cas, always getting the sloppy seconds.

I'm surprised the Nick/Jess kiss on New Girl didn't make it on this list. Or am I just a creeper?

I started crying when Castle proposed to Beckett but I wish I could vote three times. 1.For Castle Proposal, 2.For Beckett's I love you and 3.For Bones proposal :D

"I need you" more like "I love you"
Dean and Cas all the way!

Agree completely with winchesterasylum. So disappointed with the Sam/Dean scene. Disappointed with both these scenes to be honest, but Dean/Castiel scene less so, and shame on me but I don't watch the other shows, so that got my vote.

Sam and Dean scene in the "Sacrifice" finale, WOW! While powerful and heartbreaking, to me the scene is far from done because the boys desperately need to lay more honesty on the table. Destructive habits needs to stop or change or else the church scene will be all for nothing. Sam willing to live for Dean is just another variation of giving up his own dreams and pursuit of happiness to be by Dean's side. Dean's "screw the world, I want my brother alive" is just another version of AHBL when Dean had Sam stolen from heaven and returned to earth and giving the demons and angels another victory in their plans for starting the End of Days.

Sam&Dean's scene in the church. That was the best and, by SPN standard, the happiest scene in the season. Jared and Jensen knocked it out of the park.

Sacrifice church scene between Sam and Dean. Must have watched it dozens of time.

The church scene is so powerful! I swear I must have watched this scene couple times a day for weeks afterwards. I know I'm not the only one because fans and authors alike were talking and writing about it weeks later. Amazing! The struggle, the push-pull between Dean and Sam, the amazing way Jared Padalecki's acting owned the scene (and us) as he broke down. We've seen brotherly moments before but this is by far the most powerfuel and heartbroken of them all, I didn't think it could top Swan Song but it did. And that Swan-Song ripoff in the crypt scene? Cringe, laughable, and not comparable at all. In Swan Song Dean didn't care if he died, he wanted to be with his brother. The ripoff scene Dean wanted to live and was saying anything to get the dim wit angel to stop killing him.

Sam&Dean's scene. That was some of the strongest work Jared and Jensen did in the entire serie, and the brothers weren't so open and raw with each other since too long ... I just completely LOVED everything about that scene. p e r f e c t.

Earlier today, I busted out my DVR and watched several episodes from S8 (including Goodbye Stranger). The crypt scene is so powerful! I must have rewound that one part half a dozen times. Yikes! Internal struggle is always fascinating and Misha's acting is so nuanced. I liked Sam and Dean's scene from Sacrifice, but we've seen it often before. As touching as the brotherly moments are, the crypt scene hit me a lot harder and had more rewatch value, imho. Great stuff!

I loved loved loved Jared's acting for the finale, my god was it heartbreaking. BUT the confrontation dialogue itself was weak. and too quick and points not addressed properly. So slightly outweighed my choice and i chose the dean and cas one. Because the fact that Cas had already killed a THOUSAND DEANS and still managed to rebel against killing the real one? FUCK MAN.

Dean and Cas scene! Guys,as a fairy tale..their friendship or their love( as you prefer see them)broke the Naomi's mental control on Cas mind. It's amazing. With that 'I need you'said by a man who grow up quickly without a mother, and basically without a dad and his sole purpose was/is to protect his little brother...he finally found someone for whom it is worth to say I need you! Amazing...

Even deanxsam scene was amazing, but to tell the true,I'm amazed more for Jared perform than what actually happened...for me(my opinion)this insecurity from Sam it's not really healthy! There is nothing wrong with Dean's friendship with benny, Dean needs friends, but Sam just is scared to lost his place in Dean's heart. This is totally unhelthy...in a family, in a friendship even in a loving relationship.. You can't pretend to be the only one.
So I didn't see nothing 'cute',or 'sweet' in that moment, but I understand that it was fun service.

Love Dean/Sam but that scene to me was weak and contrived. I just didn't buy what Sam was saying and if you actually pay attention to the words, Dean doesn't really address what Sam has said. He sort of glosses it all over and just says "you always come first." Yeah, okay, Dean, everyone knows that, but Sam wasn't feeling insecure about his position in your heart (this seemed like a fan-service line for all the bro fans who get scared that Cas will steal Sam's place in the show). What Sam was actually talking to Dean was about something completely different and Dean doesn't even address it. So I felt that scene was unsatisfactory. Since I'm an SPN fan only, that makes my vote for Dean/Cas. Jensen, in my opinion, has always been the strongest actor in the series and he proves here why he always wins best actor. He's unbelievable!

Definitely Dean and Cas' crypt scene. It was so powerful, so emotional, so absolutely profound.

Let’s see… the scene that everybody was talking about, the scene that blew up twitter, the scene that started a EmmyForJared twitter campaign 5 minutes after the finale ended, the scene that articles for being written about WEEKS after the finale aired. Yeah, that scene. Sam and Dean’s heart to heart soul to soul talk in the church.

I love how the Bones and Castle options are one-liners and simple, while the Supernatural options are extremely long and detailed. We all know who's gonna win this one. XD

Sam and Dean scene in the church, whoa, powerful stuff!

  • Emma - 11 years ago

Dean breaking through to Cas was one of the most powerful scenes I've seen in this series. And it was delivered so flawlessly by Jensen, Misha, and Amanda that you could feel every emotion and every hit for yourself. Jared, Jensen and Misha are so well-deserving of all the props and respect in the world after the performances they have delivered, especially this past season. The fact that this celestial being was tweaked and turned to kill on command any Dean clone that came his way in cold blood, but when it came to the real thing he couldn't. He refused. Cas overcoming mind-control for the one he loves was so powerful and really rang well for the audience. I know I thoroughly enjoyed this scene!

  • Kayleigh - 11 years ago

Dean reaching out to Castiel and being able to break through heavenly brainwashing was an unforgettable scene and the performances by both actors were phenomenal. The entire scene, from beginning to end, was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.

All three of the main cast of Supernatural deserve so much more respect for the jobs they do, and this scene more than proves it. Jared, Jensen, and Misha are incredible.
