Shame on you Hamaknockers - I will never come to this place again and will not recommend this restaurant. I have never in my life had such a horrible experience. I stopped by with my kids after a great day at the beach. I had not eaten at this restaurant before and we were having such a good time we thought eating BBQ at a local joint seemed like the right summer thing to do. From the moment we walked in the door the attitude from the staff was very unwelcoming and made us feel as though we were inconveniencing them by our patronage.
I was not impressed by the food but then again it could have been due to the horrible service. The server (she) was condescending and disrespectful. The manager was not there and maybe he/she may not even care but if I was the business owner I would not tolerate staff treating my customers this way, especially customers who deal local restaurants and use for catering services in the area on a daily basis.
Uncomfortable as the whole experience was, I was able to turn this around for my kids. Yes they were embarrassed for the server's attitude but understood some people have no manners or business sense. Chances are my memory of the incompetent server and her attitude will fade away. At the end of the day the responsibility falls on the owner and his lack of commitment to the community that expects and deserves better customer service.
Love Hammaknockers when I'm running to the coast but why is Sweet Rack Rib Shack not on the list?
They are without a doubt the best in Tallahassee... DDRib sandwich is UNREAL. their pulled pork and brisket is fantastic.
Hamaknockers is the BEST by far! Some of the best BBQ I have ever had! Great Environment! Southern Hospitality! Great Staff! Fantastic Customer Service! Kid Friendly! Relaxing! Some unique Beer Choices! And their Friday and Saturday Steak Dinner is really GOOD! Our whole family loves to go! We try to make it in once every couple weeks! Try it if you haven't!
The new Texas Roadhouse is the best restaurant of it's type to happen to Tally since we moved here in 1978. It combines the best of the old BBQ places and has line dancing to boot. They'll even let a 66 year old gramma line dance with 'em. Falling off the bone ribs. Great steaks. Fantastic prices.
I say Hammaknockers, and they don't have to promote themselves on here (smokin lo's). My wife and I drive from Havana down to Hammaknockers every week because they have the best pork, delicious sauces, cold beers, and friendly folks bringing it all to you. We've even started bringing the dog because they give him bones to chew on (outside of course) while we eat.
Next time yall are down around Crawfordville, make sure you stop on by Hammaknockers and tell 'em ole thorny sent ya.
