It's funny because 60% of republicans are gay themselves and they have the log cabin party witch is all gay so who do they really hate ????

Gays will be treated as Nuts, people who are not all there. Republicans HATE, Blacks, Minorities, Gays,

Straight, WOMEN, and anyone who do see it their way. Old, White, Fat Men need only to apply.

Gays are sick and will be treated as such-directly or indirectly.

Mike Rogers did a great jobs subbing for Ed on the Ed Show radio show this past week. He was the right person to lead the discussion on eliminating DOMA.

No, hate and fear is the only page in their playbook.

The Republicans only treat white rich people as equals--anyone else--women, gays, black people, Native Americans, Latinos--all else they could care less about. We need to vote out all these nut jobs and vote in people that understand our problems and care about those who need help. We need to vote in people that will support all people, not just the white rich people. By the way, I am white but I would NEVER vote for any Republican--they don't stand for what I believe in.

Some in the Republican Party will treat gay Americans as equals. However, the vast majority are pandering to the most bigotted and hateful members of their base. That segment of the Republican Party (and they have a strangle hold on the party) will continue to twist and contort one of two passages in the Bible to try to justify and rationalize what is in reality their own hatred. That is the voice with which today's Republican Party speaks on gay rights issues. What a distgrace!!!

The problem here is the people in the Republican party, not the leadership. As long as there is a part of society that believes homosexuality is an "abomination" in the eyes of an all powerful deity, those people will align with the strongest party that promotes this agenda. Unlike with other less divisive issues, any party that has conservative christians at its core will always stand against homosexuality, and that party, at least for the foreseeable future, will be the Republican party. At this point, I don't think the Republican party can continue to exist without their conservative christian core, so it is more likely that the Republicans will cease to exist before they ever accept homosexuals as equals.

They will fight tool & nail against equality - based on gender, sexuality & race, buttressing their opinion with cherry-picked biblical quotes - until their backs are totally against the wall & the very continued existence of the Republican party is imminent.

I agree with Mark, I hope that in a decade or two they may come around, but the hard headed fools refuse to live in the real world

Nor will they ever treat minorities as equals. As you see, they are fighting like hell to maintain and keep control. The supreme court is doing its part to help.

Sure they will, right after they accept Blacks and Hispanics as equal to them.

I wish I could say yes they will come around in the long run but we see republicans around the country attempting to disenfranchise minority voters. We see them waging a war against women still, after how many years?
