Series of 4+ books - how do you normally read them?

As each book comes out

Wait for the whole series to finish before I start.

Read each book as it comes out, with a re-read of earlier books as a refresher each time.

Read collected/ omnibus editions as they come out.

Read omnibus/ collected editions when the series is finished.

I don't read long series.
