PCEHR has many benifits, its time has come, it won't go away. We are the best placed people to perform this function - looking after the whole patient who we know best of all. If GPs won't do the job then maybe some other professional group will be asked to take over. I am sure that my colleagues will see the advantages to ourselves and our patients when the system gets more patient data over time.

The PCEHR has great potential benefits for patients, doctors (including saving us time!) and the whole health system. It is the inevitable next step and compared to other country's attempts I think it has a logical framework and is progressing without catastrophe. I can't understand why so many doctors vote "I will never take part".
