That Steve Martin has an honorary Oscar and Doris Day doesn't just proves how ridiculous the selection process is. Doris Day not only should have an Oscar, she should be considered for the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award and a Kennedy Center Honor.

Doris Day is by far the most appropriate choice, after all she has accomplished. Who cares if she doesn't accept it in person I'm sure she could accept it over the phone like she has done for past awards. She is 89 and is enjoying a well deserved retirement from the spot light but that shouldn't stipulate her receiving the award. She is a true icon and legend in film/music, and I might add gaining new fans everyday. About a year ago is when I jumped on the Doris Day bandwagon and have loved every minute of it.

It is completely insane she hasn't been honored with one yet!! The people who decide who gets to be honored need their heads checked.

Definitely without a doubt Doris Day should win the Honorary Oscar...this is way overdue for her.
Her singing with the Les Brown band, all the wonderful movies she has made and still to this day the # 1 female box office star, her fabulous singing career and that wonderful voice that sounds like an angel singing. But most of all the wonderful work she has done for her animal foundation and all the 4 -leggers. This lady is so deserving of this award. I hope they get this right and Doris Day will win.

Where's the love for Liv Ullmann on this poll? She has one of the best film careers of any of them!
