Should authorities keep Justin Carter in jail and pursue a case against him?

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever herd of. I understand that this is a serious threat and should be treated as such, especially in light of recent events, but suspected terrorist?! that seems to be more a shock factor title to serve as an "example" to other young kids. that is all he is though, a young testosterone driven boy, and somebody's son. Is the just eye of the law so broad that we would categorize an enemy of our people and country who intends unspeakable devastation and violence for political and ideological reasons to a situation like this? This is NOT a calculated threat, and I truly believe he had no intent behind it. I'm not saying it should go unpunished, but taking it this far seems unjust and ignorant, who are we if we cannot use common sense and understanding? This poor lad deserves no more than a few days in jail and a hefty telling off or maybe a fine. He has learned his lesson. By taking this too far we are risking serious and possibly irreversible damage to his already fragile psyche that will shape his manhood and quite possibly change the course of his entire life, likely for the worse. I send my support to his family and the good people tirelessly working to free him of this unjust punishment.

It's time we are held accountable for our speech as well as actions. People must understand the times we live in and know that every incident can't be taken lightly and must be seen trough.
He will have a day in court and the opportunity to clear his name but until then let it be a lesson to all of us
