Garth, those unemployed cops after legalization should get hired to go plant/harvest hemp on the hillsides for a living wage.. make rope for a few years as retribution for their sins as oppression enforcement officers..

Legalize it, don't criticize it. Legalize it and let the farmers advertise it. Let everyone grow it in their gardens. Government out of our gardens, get a life already...

new German research shows that CBD a component of marijuana is a powerful antipsychotic. Could it be that the correlation between pot smoking and schizophrenia is actually proof that schizophrenic people have been successfully self medicating with CBD for years?

Will they be coming around to present this petition all over B.C. so we all have a chance to sign? I will sign for sure.

Shavluk, the next time you want to create some senseless rant, at least take the time to do some proper research and maybe get a spell checker.

Sadly you are all misled and none of what you think this does IS DONE

You are again being lied to like the ndp lie and them having cannabis policy that resulted in a harper majority

Senseless BS is going to fail I promise all

    And I say why here

I was asked just now …..

John.. Please email me all the reasons that Decriminalization is bad for us. I can’t share anything with you at this time but I need your help with this. I will be using the information and your name will not be attached to it.

    Thanks
    XXXXXX

(( I will share that this above is from a former politician ..a senior citizen in their 70′s ))

    Hi XXXXX

    Hmmm…ok….sure

Decrim is to me like weary and bored passengers just idly riding the wagon trains all along as guests avoiding traps and discomfort now just say here is good enough after watching hundreds of us actual soldiers fallen dead on the sidelines unaware every extra safety they now have has been paid for solely by those fallen beaten and destroyed’s blood sweat and tears

Decrim if one actually thinks for a second solves absolutely nothing and in reality changes absolutely nothing. in fact it will make it worse in the end

I could take hours listing things and have it all out there already on the net to simply copy and paste but for you of course I can come up with something to say any time

decrim was used as a way of killing the legalization support in California after one man put up a million and half dollars he earned over years to finally get it on the state ticket or state elections….. to the rest of the world it would in the end send out a message that marijuana legalization had in fact failed and had lost !!

Myself what with knowing that terminator movie, arnold the california gov att he time decreeing Decrim just a mere week before the Prop 19 california legalization bill election VOTE ..well.. I knew then the forces we fight knew then they had to except the fact that they had in fact now lost and to just throw in the towel

    Instead ….they threw in….their ace
Yes an ace….as to stay alive and in the game still equaling the costs of the entire armed forces as is canadas case and what with most drug crime admittedly still the reasons for 72 % of their budgets ….well… they need the drug war ..and to extend it ..to prolong it …and as the wisest strategy on their side… as I even agree ….was and is to extend it some how and to do that decrim is their ace my friend

    See….see above for why

It essentially solves nor changes absolutely anything really

Had we instead as I urged then long ago …..in bc’s case for example with sensible bc or senseless bs as I call it ….use a much better strategy instead …man oh man we would have it happening right now in bc without even a referendum ….especially with misguided lottery winning donated dollars ..wow must be nice

Yes we should have used one of the fake political partys one of these pimps of pot hide behind as they pimp pot in one form or another as all have now and since the beginning have used to hide behind for their business’s as they do not then need a license now by doing so …you see?
Any way I could write a book about this whole thing

If again one just thinks about it … as even while the country was run by the liberals the rcmp essentially to me any way committed a crime by alleging the liberals committed crimes and the rcmp (zackridelly spelling) helped besides harpers own corruption to steal this country ..another story but the point is the rcmp answered to harper before he even came into official power and has doubled their funding since and if some think it changing without a rout..well I just laugh

No one in Ottawa gives a hoot what bc says with most of the province in rcmp hands…it will instead be you watch for it …… trafficking charges and 30 months in jail with a criminal record for many just wait and see

Or it will simply clog the

It is time that the government listen to the people. We have the right to choose a natural medicine. This plant could change the way we live in so many ways. It is amazing how democracy changes when those in charge are afraid of losing billions. Cancer is the biggest business around, and our government and pharmaceutical companies run it, not our country. You work FOR us, Harper. Listen to what the people of Canada are saying.

Way overdue. Lets get these revenues out of hands of organized crime, watch them shrink and put the money to better use in our society. Im a successful businessman, previous corporate, good family sense and regular smoker for 30yrs.

I am a 68 year old man with prostate cancer. The drugs did nothing. The marijuana made the cancer go away and my PSA level is normal.

I can just hear someone years ago when alcohol was illegal......" Oh my God -- That man is drinking beer ! "

That was as alarming as today when someone says.." Oh my God that man is puffing on a reefer ! HOW AWFUL ! ""

That's how stupid this thing is. hurry up and open a dispensery in White Rock.

I have already signed this petition. I have a spinal cord injury and have better pain and spasm control with medical marijuana than with pharmaceuticals. cheers ....

I always wondered when POT finally gets legalized what would happen to all the cultivators, like in the Kootenay, Gulf Islands, the Caraboo that have been earning a living with the under-ground economy..?.. When I lived in the West Kootenay there wasn't much work to earn a living...but many people in the area did quite well..(that is without a conventional joib..hi..hi..)

Good, get them shitty RCMP officers, corrupt assholes, off the streets. Go get different jobs where they dont think they're higher than we are.

  • Garth Coen - 11 years ago

The only real risk here is possible unemployment for the thousands of police and legal/court workers. decriminalization has been the common sense thing to do for years. Prohibition failed and so have the efforts to make criminals of marijuana users. I'm not a user and have never even tasted the stuff.
