Don't walk alone or in isolated areas at night.
Carry pepper spray with you everywhere.
Just be aware of your surroundings! Berkeley isn't that dangerous.
Don't flaunt your valuables, like laptops or expensive jewelry, when you walk around.
Never leave your room.
