I voted yes because most of the neighborhoods where the crime occurs the suspects does not live in those places they hang out their and committ their crimes and leave. If police walked the beat in those places instead of responding from other locaions they would know and recognized who is who and develop relationships with the citizens of those neighborhoods. People are living in fear and they will not tell on anyone because of retaliation but if police walked the beat it would be more of a presence and the frisk and searched would make a big difference and gain the confidence of the citizens

I believe that the ignorance of the police force would not be able to distinguish between a law abiding citizen and a murderer. We need to look at the families of those who are murdering others and those who are being murdered. Most crimes in our city are hits being directed from OPP., which is operated and controlled by police thugs. We need to impeach Gusman and replace with quality enforcers.

I voted "YES" in this poll because I would like to see it but in reality I know the ridiculous judicial system that protects the bad guys would never allow a "stop and frisk" policy to exist any more than the profiling of terrorists who fit the exact description of those trying to destroy our country. First fix the criminal justice system that has been liberalized beyond recognition over the past 30+ years.

You are comparing apples and oranges when you compare NYC to NOLA. First and foremost, you don't have the restrictive gun laws in NOLA that NYC has so on what grounds do you have reasonable search for someone carrying a firearm? Second, NYC has large gang and drug task forces which has more to do with lowering murder rates than just the ability to stop and frisk. The most dramatic fall in murder came before Bloomberg and the stop and frisk law. Guilliani started his reign with deporting the homeless and mentally ill then increased police numbers to go after drug and gang activity. NOLA doesn't have the manpower and trying to cheat those numbers by using stop and frisk would be more like adding to arrest numbers with miscellaneous infraction than actually getting to the heart of murder by adding restrictions on guns to get the weapons of murder off the street.
Guns aren't allowed in bars in NYC because NYers think guns and alcohol are a risky mix. New Orleanians don't seem to think that combination is risky enough to deny the so called right to carry arms anywhere.

If you want to get serious about murder you must get serious about guns like NYC is.
