Trap served us well,at 72 fair play to him for learning the english language..well trying to at least!! i know my grandad wouldnt be able to learn Italian. He will be remembered with fondness, getting us to the euros, without a scumbag in Paris maybe South Africa too.The last 2 matches ment he simply must go,a time for change, but thank you Trap for the last 5 and a half years.

I disagree with both Trapattoni's & other pundit's negative comments that Ireland does not have the players to do better than they have done. As an example, explain why Brady & Hoolahan who did well in their last games for Ireland were not selected against Austria. Trapp consistently ignored Irish players in form in the past such as Gibson, McClean, Hoolahan, Pilkington, Joey O'Brien & Clark (all players playing in the Premier League), preferring instead players in lower divisions. He seemed to only select the better players when forced to by injuries. Ireland is capable of selecting a team composed mainly of Premier League players which one could expect to have a reasonable chance of qualifying for the World Cup finals. Look at Trapp's team's record in the last European finals (no points & the worse goal difference of all the teams there) & in the present World Cup qualifying, their 3 wins were against the Faroe Islands & Kazakhstan - big deal !!!

anyone at all other than Keane, he was a good footballer, but his mouth is just too much, if he did become manager i think he would find it hard to get players to work with
