Thousands of people in unincorporated communities don't pay municipal property taxes, relying on the province and other towns for some services. Thoughts?
It's scandalous; some of these places are bigger than actual towns and have residents that can afford to pay
It's a non-issue; there's no need for municipalities to exist in such places, to provide services residents don't want
With the provincial government paying for snowclearing, etc., I'm surprised provincial politicians don't raise a fuss
Government should level the playing field, but exempt places that truly are too small to have a critical mass
